Job Duties The work involves providing pedagogical support to students during lessons and during breaks in their interactions. Your workday will begin with a brief morning meeting with your work team to discuss the previous day and what lies ahead. You will then meet the students and follow them throughout the school day. We also want you to: let the teacher(s) decide how your support can best be utilized during teaching/the day. establish a good professional relationship with students and stay informed about why students need support and what their difficulties mean. develop and update your competence in the specific area. compensate for students' needs and support students in their situations, not others. maintain regular dialogue with mentor, teacher, and in some cases guardians. support not only specific students but also help with other tasks in the work team where needed. Qualifications We see that you have an upper secondary education focused on care and health or a youth and leisure program. You also have post-secondary education as a student assistant/personal assistant or other education the employer considers equivalent for the position. You have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing. You are not a teacher, but you need to be able to support the student in schoolwork in an adequate way during the day, which means you yourself possess good general knowledge in Swedish, mathematics, and English. You have at least three years of work experience with students who have an intellectual disability.
