Your tasks At Ljungsbro School's resource school, students in grades 7-9 who are within the autism spectrum and have special support needs in compulsory school attend. We have small student groups and high staff-to-student ratios where teaching is conducted based on each student's abilities and needs. Each group has approximately 6-8 students. The resource school staff team receives regular supervision from Consultative Support. As a resource educator, you work with students' social and academic development in close collaboration with other staff within the Resource Schools. The position involves deliberately and actively working to create a good learning environment where each student has the opportunity to, based on their strengths, develop strategies for social interaction and lifelong learning. In this role, you support both student groups and individual students. The students' support needs vary, and you are expected to be able to adapt your approach to the student or students you work with. You work closely with students and support them throughout the school day. This may include support with assignments, during breaks, during pedagogical lunch, or walks with the student. The position also includes planning, organizing, and following up on activities before, during, and after school hours. You collaborate with students' guardians and other networks that may include authorities, recreational activities, and social actors. Your workplace Ljungsbro School is a grades 7-9 school located in central Ljungsbro, just over 10 km from Linköping city center. Our vision is that through challenges, curiosity, and good relationships, we want to learn more. The school has over 300 students in grades 7-9 with approximately 20 students in each class. The school's approximately 50 employees constantly work to develop teaching to maximize student learning. The student's best interests are always in focus, and the operation is characterized by commitment, creativity, dynamism, and joy. There is a well-developed student health team here, and we are a mobile-free school. Our resource school specializing in autism has 18 student places in grades 7-9. You will be part of a work team with resource educators, teachers, a full-time mentor, and a special educator. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference for students who are struggling in school, enjoys working in a team close to colleagues, and likes finding creative solutions to challenges. About you It is a requirement that you have relevant education recognized by the employer, such as childcare worker, student assistant, social pedagogue, or recreational pedagogue from adult education, or have completed the Child and Recreation Program at upper secondary school. It is also a requirement that you have experience working with children in curriculum-based activities as an employee, through internship, or volunteer work. It is a merit if you have worked with young people or students with special support needs, with NPF (Positive Behavior Support) or in special teaching groups or resource schools. It is a merit if you have worked with students in compulsory school, preferably in grades 7-9. Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have good communication skills in speaking and writing in Swedish. This is so that, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you organize and conduct your work so that students receive support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. In your role as a resource educator, you build good relationships and collaborate well with children, colleagues, guardians, and other contacts relevant to your professional role. You have a good understanding of human diversity and approach it in a calm, safe, and attentive manner in teaching and school life. You lead work with children through motivation, engagement, and participation. The role also involves working together with your colleagues on the school's current goals and quality standards.
