(Resource Consultant) Senior Project Manager Railroad - Göteborg Would you like to lead complex railroad projects in some of Sweden's most societally important infrastructure investments? We are now looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager Railroad for a consulting assignment at Trafikverket in Göteborg. In this role, you will be part of project unit 2 Railroad within the Investment business area, West district. The assignment includes project management in both design and production phases with a focus on feasibility, coordination, and successful delivery of railroad projects. The assignment is a consulting position with start no later than 2027-01-28. The scope is 80-100% full-time. The placement location is Göteborg with some possibility for remote work and travel within Western Sweden. About the Client Our client is Trafikverket, the authority responsible for Sweden's long-term infrastructure planning as well as construction, operation, and maintenance of state roads and railroads. The operations are characterized by social value, long-term thinking, and technical development. About the Role As Senior Project Manager Railroad, you are responsible for leading projects toward established goals regarding schedule, cost, quality, and scope. You work closely with clients, project organizations, contractors, authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure progress and efficient deliveries. The role requires broad experience with railroad projects in both design and production phases as well as a good understanding of how different technical areas work together to create safe and efficient facilities. Role and Responsibility Lead and direct project organization and the various phases of the project within design and production. Ensure the project's progress, deliveries, schedule, budget, and quality. Monitor the client's requirements, project scope, and contract fulfillment. Responsible for risk management, occupational health and safety risks, estimation and forecasting work. Ensure that the project's occupational health and safety requirements are met. Define roles, responsibilities, and work procedures in the projects. Direct and lead implementation according to procured agreements and contracts. Conduct risk analyses and manage critical issues. Work with financial monitoring and forecast management. Develop and monitor control programs and facility-specific requirements. Develop and review request for proposal documents for consulting services and contracts. Lead design, construction, and work meetings. Review drawings and technical documentation from a constructability and safety perspective. Coordinate contracts and related technical areas. Manage authority contacts, permits, and notifications. Participate in inspections, inspections, and final documentation. Ensure contractors' self-inspections are carried out. Responsible for coordination of site monitoring. Transfer knowledge and experience to Trafikverket's employees. Competency Requirements 1. At least 8 years of experience as project manager in railroad projects in design and production phases. 2. Experience working as client representative in railroad projects. 3. Experience with track replacement projects including ballast cleaning and catenary replacement with project budgets of at least 500 mnkr. 4. Experience preparing request for proposal documents for contracts within track replacement and catenary replacement including BEST. 5. Experience with production work in at least two projects with passing tracks on double-track main line. 6. Experience with conversion to computer-based interlocking 95 in connection with construction of passing tracks. 7. Experience with procurement and implementation of railroad steel bridges with project budgets of at least 100 mnkr. 8. Experience with production work for demolition and new construction of catenary systems at rail yard and line including BEST, ground, and conduits. 9. Post-secondary education as facility engineer with specialization in railroad. 10. Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing. 11. Class B driver's license. 12. Knowledge within contract law. 13. Training Work on Road step 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3. 14. Training in Client's Occupational Health and Safety Responsibility. 15. BAS-P/U training. 16. BASTAB training. 17. BASÄSKYDD training. Value-Added Requirements 1. Documented experience preparing request for proposal documents for contracts within catenary systems and track replacement. 2. Ability to translate design knowledge into practical production. 3. Documented results-oriented approach. 4. Ability to work creatively and solution-oriented in complex project environments. 5. Excellent collaboration ability in projects with many stakeholders.
