Service Description Maria Preschool is located in central Gällivare with proximity to the library, swimming hall, and museum. Maria Preschool has organized its operations into age-divided groups. The preschool consists of 2 buildings with separate outdoor areas. In one building there are 3 departments with children ages 1–2 years. In the other building there are 5 departments with children in age-divided groups ages 3–5 years. At Maria Preschool, we work in 3, 4, and 5-year groups, which means that the work teams collaborate across departments and give children the opportunity to explore and discover different learning environments. Duties Working as a staff resource means you become an additional person in the work team so that the preschool can meet children with special support needs. You will work closely with a child who needs tube feeding and thereby be an important support in the child's daily life at the preschool. You are part of the work team and together you will design a safe, stimulating, and developmental education and learning environment for the children. The Curriculum (Lpfö18) describes the work and education that the preschool offers the children. Qualifications We are looking for you who are trained as a childcare worker and who have experience meeting children with special support needs. Experience with tube feeding is meritorious (training and introduction will be provided). Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment with Gällivare Municipality. It is important that: you are familiar with our governing document, the Curriculum for Preschool (Lpfö18), you are a safe and clear leader, take initiative easily, are positive and have confidence in children's different competencies. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. you value trusting relationships with children and guardians and that you have good collaboration skills. You will need to provide an extract from the police criminal record register for work in schools and childcare upon employment.
