Latvijas Nacionālais rakstniecības un mūzikas muzejs invites applications for a conservator position (One position for an indefinite period with part-time hours (0.5 FTE))
Key responsibilities:
Conduct examinations of museum collection items and assess their preservation condition;
Conduct research and analysis of objects to be conserved, prepare and implement conservation and restoration work programs;
Perform conservation and restoration of museum items while ensuring preservation of their authenticity;
Document the research, conservation, and restoration process and prepare conservation documentation in accordance with professional standards.
Requirements for candidates:
Completed or ongoing education in conservation or a related field (including education obtained abroad, if recognized in regulatory acts);
Desired qualification in paper conservation, but candidates from other conservation specialties with motivation to learn paper conservation will also be considered;
Ability to independently conduct research, conservation/restoration of items, and process documentation;
Capacity to organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and take responsibility;
Good knowledge of Latvian language, desirable knowledge of at least one official EU language;
Ability to work with a computer at a level necessary for job performance;
Experience in conservation of museum collection items and appropriate qualifications will be considered an advantage.

The candidate evaluation commission will not evaluate applications that do not include the documents specified in the announcement.
We will contact only those candidates who advance to the second round of selection. The selection competition will be conducted in two stages.
First stage – evaluation of candidates' education and work experience based on submitted documents.
Second stage – interview, during which the candidate's knowledge and competencies will be assessed against the requirements established for the position.
