We are seeking a Release Train Engineer (RTE) for one of our agile trains. Are you an experienced and inspiring leader in agile development?
In the RTE role, you will have a central position in leading and developing our cross-functional teams. You are responsible for creating strong collaboration, driving continuous improvements, and ensuring efficient and well-functioning workflows.
With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking and inclusive organization where innovation and sustainability are in focus. If you are passionate about coaching teams, leading change, and creating structures that enable results – we look forward to your application.
About the job
You will be part of the train leadership together with the train architect (TA), Release Train Engineer (RTE), and product manager (PM). As RTE, you have overall responsibility for how work is coordinated between teams and roles within the train, supported by agile methods and a lean-agile approach.
Your leadership is built on trust, and you function as a coach for the train's members on matters concerning agile working methods and fundamental principles. As RTE, you have a key role in creating the conditions for effective and well-functioning collaboration – where the goal is for teams to work as smoothly and value-creating as possible.
In the role, there will also be opportunities to drive agile transformation across the organization through, for example, training, coaching, and facilitating improvement work.
In the role, you are responsible for, among other things:
coaching and building relationships to optimize team and flow through the train
driving continuous improvement work and problem-solving regarding process and method
communicating the train's overall status to stakeholders around and within the train in a systematic and learning-oriented manner
monitoring and visualizing the train's capacity
driving continuous improvement work and problem-solving regarding process and method
monitoring dependencies to other initiatives around the train as needed
monitoring, escalating, and removing obstacles for the train regarding both development and operations
managing risks and dependencies at the train level
facilitating and supporting the train's various ceremonies and processes
You will belong to the IT department in the line organization, but work in a cross-functional agile train with expertise from multiple parts of the business. The IT department consists of approximately 350 employees and is a central part of our mission-critical work, where the need for expertise continues to grow.
With us, you are offered a developmental work environment with a strong focus on engagement, innovation, and continuous learning. We actively work to create an inclusive culture with a focus on equality and sustainable employment, where different perspectives and experiences are seen as a strength.
Your profile
For us, it is not just what you have done or how long, but above all your ability to create results that matters. In the RTE role, you have strong, trust-based leadership where you inspire, guide, and support teams through change and continuous development.
You collaborate closely with other RTEs, product management, and teams to create efficient and well-functioning workflows. With a holistic perspective, you see the train's role in a larger context, identify dependencies, and act proactively to optimize deliveries.
You are confident in your role, handle challenges with professionalism, and maintain a solution-oriented approach even in more demanding situations. At the same time, you are initiative-taking, self-driven, and thrive with moving the work forward in a dynamic and complex environment.
We are looking for you who have:
academic education in engineering or equivalent several years of experience
experience working with agile methods, preferably in the role of RTE, Agile coach, or Scrum Master
experience leading change in working methods
experience setting up metrics, key figures, and corresponding goals
