JOB DUTIES Viksjöskolan's principal will move on to a new assignment within Järfälla Municipality, so we are now seeking a confident, experienced, and competent principal with strong commitment to student learning. We are looking for someone who can build a stable development and operations organization and who can lead change efforts based on the school's focus areas: improved knowledge results, teaching quality, attendance, and systematic quality work. You are grounded in strong pedagogical leadership and have extensive teaching experience. You are expected to be an active and present pedagogical leader who, together with the school's teachers, develops and shapes high-quality instruction. You are also expected to actively drive the school's values and safety work together with all staff members. You are responsible for each student's right and opportunity to develop in accordance with national goals. You possess good knowledge and experience of the decisive importance of preventive and developmental student health work for students' opportunities to succeed. The principal is responsible for organizing the school so that processes and structures are clear and anchored in the organization, and for distributing resources efficiently based on students' prerequisites and needs. You build good and trusting relationships with staff, students, and guardians, as well as with other actors that the school collaborates with in its mission. As a principal in Järfälla Municipality, you are led by the Director of Primary Education and are part of a principal group consisting of 21 principals with great competence and ambition to jointly develop Järfälla's primary schools. As a new principal in Järfälla, you are offered mentoring based on individual needs. You can expect strong support from administration leadership and central support functions, as well as from principal colleagues. QUALIFICATIONS • Lead, motivate, and empower others with the authority needed to effectively reach shared goals. • Collaborate well with others. Requirements • Pedagogical college degree or equivalent that the employer deems equivalent • Teaching certification and experience in primary school teaching • Completed or ongoing principal training • Documented management experience as principal or assistant principal in primary school • Knowledge of the Swedish education system, governing documents, laws, and regulations that guide operations • Familiarity with education-focused research • Ability to communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing • Good digital competence for administration and pedagogical work • Knowledge of economics, work environment, and labor law Meritorious: • Experience as a school leader at the middle school level • Experience working in a multilingual and multicultural school environment and collaborating with external actors At Järfälla Municipality, you can develop yourself, your knowledge, and your competencies through internal courses and professional development to advance your career.
