Do you want to lead and develop a safe, engaged, and pedagogically driven preschool in a beautiful natural setting near the sea? We are now seeking a clear, confident, and inspiring principal for Vikenstugan Preschool in Ljunghusen. We are looking for someone who wants to be present in the operations, create good conditions for staff, and together with the board, school administrator, and personnel continue to develop the preschool with the children's best interests in focus. ABOUT THE POSITION Position: Principal Municipality: Vellinge Scope: 75% with possibility of 100% Duration: Permanent Employment Type: Permanent or fixed-term employment ABOUT VIKENSTUGAN PRESCHOOL Vikenstugan Preschool is an independent preschool operated as a staff cooperative in an economic association. The preschool is beautifully located in the scenic town of Ljunghusen, with proximity to the sea and excellent opportunities to incorporate nature into the children's daily activities and learning. The preschool accommodates 120 children ages 1-5 years, distributed across six departments with age-mixed groups. At Vikenstugan, committed and flexible educators work together to offer children a safe, developmental, and thoughtfully pedagogical program with good continuity and clear routines. We value close and trusting collaboration between the principal, staff, board, school administrator, and parents. YOUR ASSIGNMENT AS PRINCIPAL As principal, you hold overall responsibility for the preschool's operations, staff, and work environment. You lead and coordinate daily work while being responsible for the long-term pedagogical development of the operations. You lead the preschool based on the Education Act, the preschool curriculum, and other governing documents. You are responsible for implementing national goals in the operations and creating clarity around common objectives, working methods, and priorities. You work on behalf of the preschool's board and in close collaboration with our school administrator. As part of the preschool's management organization, you contribute a holistic perspective, structure, and clear focus on quality and development. You are responsible for ensuring that decisions and agreements made are implemented and followed up. You keep the board and school administrator informed about the operations' development, results, needs, and any challenges. As principal, you are visible and accessible in the operations. You build trusting relationships and contribute to open and respectful communication with staff and parents. WHOM ARE WE LOOKING FOR? As a leader, you create clarity around goals, responsibilities, and expectations. You have a coaching and trust-based leadership style, leveraging staff competence and creating participation, motivation, and work satisfaction. You communicate clearly, respectfully, and in a trust-building manner. You are solution-oriented and can maintain calm, structure, and effectiveness even when multiple needs must be addressed simultaneously. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who: ● Has a pedagogical higher education degree and pedagogical insight through both education and experience. ● Has completed principal training. ● Has good knowledge of the Education Act, the preschool curriculum, and other governing documents. ● Has experience leading systematic quality work. ● Has knowledge of work environment practices and personnel management. ● Has strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing and to use digital tools in your work.
