Södra Lapplands Gymnasieförbund is a federation encompassing secondary schools in the municipalities of Vilhelmina, Storuman, and Tärnaby. Our schools demonstrate high academic achievement and employ a high proportion of qualified teachers. Teaching groups are small. We aim for SLG to be the natural choice for young people in southern Lapland, offering nine national programs, introductory programs, and apprenticeship training. SLG also offers NIU programs in armwrestling and alpine skiing. Our municipalities are beautifully located in southern Lapland, featuring forests, lakes, and mountains. We are now seeking a rector who wants to help develop our secondary schools in Storuman and Tärnaby. This is a permanent position at 100% capacity and is contingent upon necessary approvals. Luspengymnasiet and Tärnaby Alpine Gymnasium are now seeking a new rector. You will have the opportunity for thorough onboarding and transition support from the federation's management organization. About the Schools Luspengymnasiet in Storuman is a small and family-oriented secondary school. This is something students appreciate, resulting in strong academic outcomes and unique cohesion. The school is located downtown, close to everything. The school has just over 70 students. Tärnaby Alpine Gymnasium is both an elite alpine skiing secondary school and a gymnasium with 3 national programs. The school is located in Tärnaby. If you choose to pursue elite alpine skiing, this is where you study. The school has approximately 40 students. We are in an exciting development phase where collaboration with other school units within the federation is crucial, both to strengthen our collective offerings and to create innovative learning environments for our students. Your Responsibilities As rector, you will have overall responsibility for operations at Luspengymnasiet and Tärnaby Alpine Gymnasium. You will lead an engaged staff and drive pedagogical development with a focus on high-quality instruction and a positive work environment. Your responsibilities include: Actively promote collaboration between different school units to strengthen the federation's overall educational quality. Develop operations based on local and national directives. Support and inspire staff in daily work and promote collegial learning. Build and maintain good relationships with students, guardians, and external partners. Manage budget and personnel responsibilities and oversee quality assurance and systematic quality work. Qualifications You have a foundation in pedagogy, acquired through education and experience in school operations. Your leadership style is characterized by engagement, clarity, and responsiveness. Ability to organize and prioritize. Experience with or interest in leading in collaboration with other school forms is an advantage. Good knowledge of current directives and the school's mission. We prefer that you have completed the national rector training program. (If not, you will be offered the opportunity to complete it as part of your position.)
