We are now seeking a principal for Grythyttans School and Preschool. Grythyttans School is a grades F–6 school with approximately 130 students. The school is characterized by a strong sense of community among staff members who support each other and work together for the best outcomes for students. The operations are marked by openness, collaboration, and a clear focus on safety, learning, and development. As principal, you will also be responsible for Grythyttans Preschool. Together, the school and preschool form an important whole in Grythyttan, where you will have the opportunity to lead pedagogical work from young children's first educational setting through the early years of elementary school. With us, it is important that all children and students feel safe, seen, and have the opportunity to develop according to their abilities. As principal, you will be a key person in creating good conditions for teaching, care, work environment, and goal achievement. You report directly to the school director and are part of the school director's management team. Responsibilities As principal of Grythyttans School and Preschool, you will: Lead, coordinate, and develop pedagogical work. Be responsible for operations, staff, work environment, finances, and results. Drive systematic quality work through follow-up, analysis, and development. Create good conditions for staff development, participation, and collaboration. Be a clear and present leader for children, students, guardians, and staff. Ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with the Education Act, curricula, and other governing documents. Work actively for safety, good order, equality, and inclusion. Collaborate with student health services, administration, unions, and other stakeholders. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: A teaching degree. At least five years of experience working as a qualified teacher. Good knowledge of school and preschool governance documents. Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Ability to lead, organize, and develop pedagogical activities. A professional and solution-focused approach. Good collaboration skills and ability to build trustful relationships. A clear child and student perspective. Driver's license (category B). Meritorious It is advantageous if you have: Completed or begun principal training/principal program. Previous experience in leadership roles, such as assistant principal, team leader, lead teacher, or other pedagogical leadership position. Experience with systematic quality work and operational development. Experience working in both school and preschool settings. Terms The position is a permanent, full-time employment with a probationary period possible. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. Interviews will be held in August 2026.
