About Fryshuset Grundskola Akalla Fryshuset Grundskola Akalla is a grades F–6 school in Kista with approximately 600 students. We work to ensure that each student feels safe, seen, and included while receiving the best possible conditions to develop and achieve their learning goals. The school has engaged and competent teachers and educators, expanded student health services, safety teams, and specialized teaching groups. We view the school day as more than just instruction. Through after-school activities, break-time activities, club involvement, and various collaborations, we create positive environments for our students outside of lesson time. In instruction, we work to give students the opportunity to develop creativity, problem-solving, and responsibility. We believe in all young people regardless of background and in the power of education to create opportunities and future hope. About the Position As principal of Fryshuset Grundskola Akalla, you have overall responsibility for the school's educational development, student achievement, safety and study environment, and the school's systematic quality work. You lead the school together with the school's leadership organization and create conditions for staff members to succeed in their roles. You have overall responsibility for the operations and work both strategically and operatively on the school's continued development. The role includes, among other things: leading and developing the school's educational activities responsible for students' learning development and the school's goal achievement leading the school's systematic quality work and ensuring that results are followed up and lead to relevant interventions holding personnel, work environment, student, and budget responsibility leading and developing the school's student health work ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment with good study conditions developing the school's organization, work methods, and culture leading change and development work and creating engagement and participation in the organization creating good collaboration with students, guardians, and other important stakeholders contributing to the development of Fryshuset's combined school organization. As principal, you are part of Fryshuset's school leadership and contribute to developing our schools and our shared direction for school operations. You move naturally between the strategic and the operational and have the ability to both see the big picture and understand what needs to happen in daily practice. You have experience and interest in leading school development in an intercultural and multifaceted school context. You understand that different students and staff may need different conditions and support, while at the same time holding firmly to the school's mission and high expectations for teaching quality and student learning. You have a strong focus on the educational mission and see systematic quality work, student health, safety, and study environment as important parts of the school's combined work to create good results. As principal, you also need to be able to lead change. You can analyze the current situation and needs, prioritize what is most important, and create a clear path forward. You involve staff and build understanding for the change, but also have the courage to maintain direction when it becomes challenging. Who Are You? You are confident in your role as a leader and have the ability to build trust with staff, students, and guardians alike. You are receptive and unpretentious, but also clear about goals, responsibilities, and expectations. You have good analytical skills and use results, follow-up, and professional dialogues as a basis for prioritizing and developing operations. You thrive in complexity and have the ability to switch between the whole and details without losing direction. You are a leader who makes things happen and who at the same time understands the importance of long-term commitment, relationships, and anchoring. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you need to have: experience working as a principal completed the Principal's Program experience leading school development in an intercultural and multifaceted school context experience with student health work and work with safety and study environment experience leading change and development work experience with elementary school's earlier years and after-school programs pedagogical insight through education and experience good knowledge of the school's governing documents and relevant school legislation experience with systematic quality work experience with personnel and work environment responsibility good analytical skills and experience working with follow-up and results excellent ability to communicate and build trusting relationships. It is also desirable that you have a teacher's degree and teacher certification.
