Do you want to lead an upper secondary school where quality, clarity, and development are in focus? We are now seeking a principal to lead our adapted upper secondary school and hotel and tourism program. In this role, you will take comprehensive responsibility and create, together with your team, the best conditions for our students to succeed.
The Principal Role
As principal, you have overall responsibility for operations, staff, work environment, finances, and quality within your unit. You lead with a holistic perspective and clear goal-oriented management, monitor results, and ensure that teaching, student well-being, and other functions work together toward common objectives.
We continuously work to develop our operations with a focus on structure, alignment, and a strong professional culture. As principal, you will lead this work with clarity and persistence. You combine structure with responsiveness and create good conditions for long-term quality and stable development.
The role operates within a politically governed organization, which requires understanding of governance, financial frameworks, and accountability. Experience with change management and student well-being work is an important part of the whole.
You will be part of a supportive and professional principal group led by our upper secondary school manager. Our two upper secondary schools, Aranäsgymnasiet and Elof Lindälvs gymnasium, have a total of ten principals—five at each school. Collaboration across school boundaries is a natural part of the role, and you are expected to actively contribute to the whole, with shared responsibility for the development of upper secondary education.
You will have support from qualified functions in HR, finance, and administration.
Your Profile
You are a confident and clear leader who creates direction and engagement. Through your leadership, you inspire others to want to contribute, take responsibility, and develop. You have the courage to challenge and the drive to improve, while remaining unpretentious and building a trusting climate where collaboration and collegial learning are natural parts of everyday work. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in our target group and a willingness to contribute to the whole.
You have excellent communication skills and are skilled at meeting people where they are. You listen in, adapt your message, and translate dialogue into clear priorities that move the organization forward. You express yourself well in Swedish in speech and writing, as this is a prerequisite for daily work. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Several years of relevant work experience as a principal or assistant principal.
Meritorious qualifications include:
- Completed principal training.
- Work experience with personnel and financial responsibility.
