About the operation
Sven Eriksson High School is a vibrant 170-year-old standing stronger than ever! The school's current offerings are the Economics Program, Entrepreneurship Track, Leisure and Health (specialization within the Children's and Leisure Program), IB (International Baccalaureate), Engineering Program, Engineering Track, T4, Introduction Program and National and Local Sports Education. Within the school there is also the support operation Torget for students with autism spectrum diagnosis. At Sven Eriksson High School, approximately 1350 students study together with approximately 170 employees. The pedagogical staff are organized in both program teams and subject teams. The school has a student health organization and a support and service organization with food service, facilities maintenance, caretaking, IT and administrative support. School management is led by the high school principal together with five rectors and one unit manager for support and service. Our values are education and community, tradition and future and this permeates everything we do.
Sven Eriksson High School is located in central Borås next to the Travel Centre, convenient for those who take the train or bus. Job responsibilities
As one of our long-serving employees retires, we now need to recruit a replacement! We are looking for someone who wants to be part of taking Sven Eriksson High School into the future together with us. We are looking for a driven, committed leader with wonderful energy who is skilled at leading teams.
Sven Eriksson High School is making an investment ahead of the 2026/27 school year where we are now expanding with an additional unit and at the same time reorganizing and refining the units. The new unit, Unit E Individual Study Path, will focus on students who have not achieved eligibility or have different types of support needs. This includes the Introduction Program with IMA and IMS. In addition, IMA-ast and Torget for students with autism spectrum diagnosis.
As a rector, you are one of the school's pedagogical leaders, where you are responsible for providing a safe study environment with developmental teaching of high quality.
To succeed in the task, you need to constantly work with planning, implementation, follow-up and analysis of both your unit and the school as a whole.
You work long-term and systematically for the whole with a focus on improving and developing the operation based on set goals and within financial constraints.
You work together with your staff and build good relationships with the students. Together you work to feel pride in the operation.
In your role as rector, you have overall responsibility for your unit achieving its goals. As part of the task, you are also part of the school's management group with close collaboration and cooperation with the school's other rectors, the head of support and service and the high school principal.
You have budget, work environment and personnel responsibility.
You communicate and collaborate with various actors outside the school, follow what is happening in the world around you and see the operation as part of the municipal whole.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has teacher education and rector education and has worked as both a teacher and a rector.
For the role, it is required that you have knowledge and qualities to conduct a distributed and communicative leadership.
You can work together operationally and strategically, both internally and externally, and have the ability to make decisions.
You also have a good ability to organize and manage periods of high workload, where through a holistic view of school and independently you can initiate and prioritize among different tasks.
As a person, you are results and goal-oriented while you practice humble and secure leadership.
By being attentive, inspiring joy in work, collaborating, anchoring and being a good pedagogical leader, you create participation, commitment and alignment among your employees.
