Job Responsibilities As a principal in Borås Municipality, we want you to work with process management and build strong relationships in close collaboration with your staff and student welfare team – all to increase student achievement and well-being and strengthen the school's own ability to develop. You prioritize your educational leadership and your focus is on the meeting between teacher and student. You clarify the school's mission and work consciously and long-term to coordinate and lead important development processes. You capture the ideas of staff and students and have a well-thought-out approach to how student participation should be realized. You are a clear manager and present leader who understands the importance of unlocking staff capacity and working together on meaningful tasks. You have result responsibility for staff, finances, student welfare work, work environment issues, and operational development. In your role, you will work closely with the client and other actors in the operational area. The assignment may include some school administrative tasks. About the Operation Viskaforsskolan is characterized by a warm atmosphere where staff enjoy working and have close collaboration and broad expertise. Viskaforsskolan is a grades 7-9 school with approximately 200 students and, together with the grades F-6 school, works from an F-9 perspective with focus on students' entire school journey and good relationships with students and parents. Viskaforsskolan has high expectations for its students and works for them to progress as far as possible in their knowledge development and prepare them for the future. Together we create participation, community, and good meetings. The school is located along the beautiful Viskan River south of Borås, surrounded by scenic natural environment and consists of three buildings, a swimming pool, two sports halls with an adjacent sports field. The school also has access to a library and youth center and has two fully equipped craft halls for teaching in wood and metal crafts. You report to an operations manager and work closely with other managers and principals and operational developers within the Primary School Department. You also have access to qualified support centrally in the department in areas such as finance and HR. Qualifications For this position, it is required that you have a pedagogical university education, teaching license, and experience as a teacher. We would like you to have completed principal training and experience leading change processes through trust-based management. We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for the whole, sees the parts, and can steer toward the goals. We want leadership focused on goals and quality in operations and who systematically wants to develop the different parts of the operation both short-term and long-term. To succeed as a principal, we see that you have good communication skills and a leadership style built on participation. A principal who has the courage to point out the school's direction and create good conditions for moving forward based on current development areas and focus on student achievement. You care about being a responsive, present, and trustworthy leader for both staff and students and guardians. Through credible leadership with the ability to inspire and unite staff toward common goals, you develop both individuals and operations.
