The Education and Labour Market Administration's mission is to increase individuals' opportunities to find employment and become self-sufficient through education, practice and work. At Sannarps Gymnasium you will have a role with both breadth and substance in one of Halmstad Municipality's largest secondary schools. Here you will be part of a school with approximately 1,400 students, around 150 employees and a clear ambition to continue developing the quality, safety and equality of education. We also have Kristineheds Gymnasium which is part of Sannarps Gymnasium. You are stepping into a context where much is happening, with new construction and renovation, strong collaboration in the arena area and a central role in the school's continued development in elite sports and secondary education. As rector here you will have the opportunity to influence both daily life and the direction forward together with other rectors and the secondary education director! Your Responsibilities As rector at Sannarps Gymnasium you are responsible for the school's elite sports team, which includes classes from both the business and social sciences programs. In your role you are responsible for finances, personnel and work environment. You lead the operation close to your employees while driving development that strengthens quality and equality for both students and staff. You have an important role in systematic quality work based on current legislation and governing documents, together with your colleagues in the school's management group. The role also involves extensive collaboration with actors in sports at local and national levels. You have contacts with sports clubs, specialist sports federations, the Swedish Sports Confederation, and RIU at Halmstad University. An important part of the role is to help develop the school's sports profile further, including the launch of new NIU programs that have been approved to start in autumn 2027 in e-sports, gymnastics and weightlifting. In the role you have support from a sports coordinator. You also have a special focus on the school's safety and security work, with personnel responsibility for safety officers. Together with the school's other management you are expected to contribute to goals regarding strengthening the quality of education, creating good and equal conditions for students and employees, developing sports as a strong part of the school's profile, and building a safe and well-functioning operation in an environment that is under continued development. Your Qualifications Requirements You have experience working as a rector. You have completed rector training. Meritorious You have experience working in secondary school. You have experience in educational leadership. You have experience in sports and club life. You have completed leadership training such as UL. You are a leader who creates direction and makes development happen. At the same time you build trust by being open, attentive and clear in your expectations. You create good conditions for participation, take responsibility for the whole and can switch between handling daily work matters and maintaining focus on long-term development. To succeed in this role you need to enjoy collaboration with others, be able to unite people around common goals and have the ability to translate ideas into sustainable practical work. Other Information During the vacation period we will respond with lower frequency which may result in somewhat longer response times to any questions during the summer. We will be back in week 32 and will answer questions after that. After the application deadline has passed we will review the applications and get back to you. If you move forward you will take tests, followed by a telephone check-in, competency-based interview and finally a candidate meeting with union participation. If you are offered employment within secondary and adapted secondary school at the Education and Labour Market Administration you need to provide an extract from the Police Crime Register for work in schools or preschools. The extract is free to order but can take 2-3 weeks for the Police to process. We therefore recommend that you order the extract in good time. Before employment you need to show that you have the right to work, which is required under the Aliens Ordinance. You do this by proving your citizenship in the EU/EEA or Switzerland with a passport, national ID card or certificate of identity together with an identity document. If you cannot do that you need to present a work permit or show that you are exempt from the requirement for a work permit. The position is filled subject to required decisions being made.
