The Rheumatology Clinic is a regional clinic with units in Umeå, Lycksele, and Skellefteå. Outpatient services are extensive, and the majority of patients have rheumatic inflammatory diseases requiring active medical treatment often combined with rehabilitation. The Umeå facility also includes a Therapy Pool where two people work. The operation consists of group training in the pool and the facility is primarily used by healthcare clinics and health centers. Rehabilitation assistants at the Therapy Pool lead the Rheumatology Clinic's groups together with physiotherapists, while other clinics using the pool have their own group leaders. JOB DUTIES Handle healthcare administration in the form of cash/reception and registration in patient record systems. Each hour a new group of up to 20 people arrives for pool training. Assist with help during dressing and undressing, sometimes transferring in and out of the pool. Lead groups in water aerobics, approximately 1-2 groups per week. Be available in the pool hall and be able to act in case of any incidents. This requires good physical ability as the work is somewhat physically demanding. Continuous cleaning and maintenance of facilities during the day with high patient throughput. Ordering materials. The Therapy Pool is closed during Christmas/New Year and for two summer months for facility maintenance, and during this time you are part of the Rheumatology Clinic's holiday staffing. The position is a temporary contract from 2026-09-01 to 2027-06-30, with the possibility of extension. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a person with previous experience from the healthcare sector. Nursing assistant certification is a requirement. You have the ability to work independently and have readiness to act in case of any incidents (e.g., illness, life-saving in the pool). You should be able to lead pool training groups in an inspiring manner, taking into account the limitations of various diseases. You do this in consultation with the clinic's physiotherapists as the training session is part of the healthcare treatment. Training is adapted based on functional limitations and disease picture. Swimming proficiency and knowledge of CPR and life-saving in the pool are a requirement. If you lack knowledge in CPR and life-saving in the pool, we can discuss how to address this. We have recurring training initiatives in this area. You should be service-oriented and have good interpersonal skills. You should be able to switch between different tasks within administration, patient contact and care, leading water aerobics sessions, as well as facility maintenance and cleaning.
