The Legal Department handles matters within many areas of law including municipal and administrative law, health and medical law, research law, public access and confidentiality, procurement, IT law, data protection, association law, and total defense law. We are four regional lawyers, including a chief legal officer, who work closely with operations and provide legal support.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a regional lawyer with focus on data protection, IT law, and AI law, you will play a central role in Region Gävleborg's legal development. You provide qualified legal support in complex matters and contribute to ensuring legally sound solutions that support operational development and mission.
Main responsibilities
• provide qualified legal support within data protection, IT law, and AI law
• offer advice on matters relating to health and medical care, public access and confidentiality, and contract law
• contribute to the region's development work in AI and support operations in legal matters related to AI
• work with legal issues within the Legal Department's other areas of law as needed
• collaborate with managers, operations, and other functions to develop and ensure legally sound approaches.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is self-driven and enjoys taking responsibility for your work. You have a structured approach to work and the ability to plan and prioritize to achieve results even when there is a lot to do. You are flexible and can adapt to changing conditions without losing focus. When problems arise, you see opportunities and find solutions quickly. You also have good collaboration skills and enjoy working together with others to reach common goals. You communicate clearly and effectively and always deliver high quality in what you do.
To succeed in this role, we require
• degree from a law program, 270 credits.
It is meritorious if you have experience from several of the areas of law that the Legal Department works with, particularly health and medical law, public access and confidentiality, AI law, data protection, and IT law. Experience in qualified legal work in public operations and experience in public law (preferably municipal and administrative law) is also meritorious.
