Berättarministeriet is at a pivotal moment. After several years of growing operations, stronger impact, and increased demand from schools, partners, and community stakeholders, we are establishing a physical presence in Region North (Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland, Västernorrland). We are now seeking a Regional Director for the region to, together with a local team, drive our important work forward and support the schools that need us most. Berättarministeriet is a non-profit, politically and religiously independent foundation that works to strengthen children's language, reading, and future hope in schools where needs are greatest. Our work takes place in close collaboration with teachers and is built on a simple conviction: when children gain access to language, they also gain greater opportunity to understand the world, express themselves, and participate fully in society. We have many years of experience in Regions South, West, and East, and have begun establishing ourselves in Region North in recent years. Following strong interest from selected schools in the region, we are now launching a physical establishment with a local team based in Luleå, with the aim of serving the entire region. As Regional Director, you will be responsible, together with colleagues in the rest of Sweden, for this establishment and subsequent work with your local team of two people. About the role This role is perfect for you if you want a meaningful assignment in building from the ground up a long-term presence for teachers and students in the region and continue to drive Berättarministeriet's pedagogical work forward. You will be part of an exciting establishment process in an organization rooted in storytelling and a humanistic perspective on learning, which permeates the entire operation. To thrive in this role, you appreciate a creative and solution-focused work environment with many contact points as well as present and shared leadership. You report to the organization's General Secretary and are responsible for personnel, budget, and various agreements in your region. You work closely with colleagues in the leadership team and administration as well as your local team and other colleagues nationally, which requires that you have the ability to travel on business. Formal requirements - Swedish in speech and writing - Teaching degree, preferably with additional pedagogical further education - Several years of experience leading personnel/teams - Experience in strategic organizational development - Experience leading pedagogical development work We believe you - Have deep pedagogical grounding and good understanding of language and knowledge development methods - Have very good knowledge of schools and education issues in Region North - Have experience building relationships and long-term partnerships - Thrive with occasionally high pace, many contact points, and varied tasks - Are confident in independently driving processes, making decisions, and prioritizing - Want to be part of an innovative and creative organization and therefore preferably have experience in fast-moving organizations with an entrepreneurial spirit - Have a cross-sector network in the region Work tasks - Lead Berättarministeriet's continued establishment in North, which includes: • Establishment of physical office/showroom • Personnel responsibility for two employees • Spread awareness of Berättarministeriet in North to relevant target groups • Build relationships with relevant actors in education, at political, administrative, and school levels in the region • Maintain partnerships, collaborations, and exchanges with the public, private, and non-profit sectors in the region • Establish Berättarministeriet as an educational actor in the region through strategic placements and proactive relationship work - Responsible for competence development and goal achievement within your team - Responsible for the region's budget and resource prioritization - Drive Berättarministeriet's pedagogical work forward together with colleagues - Drive cooperation with actors central to the organization such as educational institutions, business, and foundations in Region North - Strategic communication and organizational development - Member of leadership team and administration Application and other terms The position is full-time and is a fixed-term employment for two years, with good opportunities for permanent employment. We offer 35 days of vacation and a wellness allowance of 5,000 kronor per year. Other terms are regulated according to collective agreement. The position involves regular travel in Region North as well as the rest of Sweden, with remaining time based in Luleå. Application deadline is September 13th.
