Accounting Economist for Government Agency

We are now seeking an accounting economist for a consulting assignment at a government agency in Stockholm. You will be part of the finance function and work broadly with accounting and financial administration in an operation with high demands for accuracy, quality, and structure. The assignment will be carried out primarily on-site at the agency's offices in Stockholm. The option to work remotely is currently available up to two days per week, by agreement. Location: Stockholm Scope: Full-time, 100% Start: 1/10-2026 to 31/3-2026 Responsibilities In this role, you will work with, among other things: Accounting and ongoing bookkeeping Accounts receivable and accounts payable Travel expenses and reimbursements Time tracking Incoming and outgoing payments General ledger Cash and bank reconciliations Reconciliations, troubleshooting, and controls Monthly closing, period closing, and annual closing Work in the financial systems U4 Agresso and Proceedo Qualifications We are looking for you who have: Higher education in economics or equivalent education, for example vocational higher education At least 5 years of work experience in similar accounting work Good knowledge of MS Office or equivalent Good knowledge of bookkeeping systems Experience with U4 Agresso and Proceedo Experience with government accounting Very good Swedish in both speech and writing Meritorious It is meritorious if you have: At least 10 years of experience in similar work At least 5 years of experience in similar work within a government agency Completed at least one similar assignment at a government agency that lasted at least one year during the past three years Experience working independently with closing and qualified reconciliations Very good collaboration skills and high service awareness As a person, you are thorough, responsible, structured, and solution-oriented.
