We are now recruiting an Accounting Economist with systems interest at the County Administrative Board of Stockholm (Länsstyrelsen i Stockholms län) for the Economics and Governance unit. What does the role include? With us, you work with qualified accounting and ensure that the authority's financial management maintains high quality and complies with applicable regulations. You assist in preparing monthly and annual financial statements and contribute to the financial section of the annual report. Examples of other work tasks included in the role are accounting for VAT and employer contributions, reconciliations of payment flows and bank accounts, and reporting in Hermes. You are responsible for the administration of our financial system Unit4 ERP, where system ownership is managed by a cross-county administrative board function. You provide support and advice on accounting matters internally within the unit and to other parts of the County Administrative Board. You work closely with other functions that provide support to operations, including controllers and administrators. You also prepare materials for audits and other reports. The role includes both analytical and operational work. You investigate and quality-assure accounting matters and drive improvement and efficiency work together with your colleagues. Are you the one we're looking for? For this role, we want you to have: Higher education/university degree in economics, or alternatively other education that we consider equivalent, Several years of current experience in government accounting including knowledge of the state's financial model and relevant legislation for government agencies, Very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, Good knowledge of English in both speech and writing, Good knowledge of the Office package, primarily Excel. The position is placed in the Economics and Governance unit, which consists of 14 employees. The unit is responsible for accounting, financial statements, annual reports, and the authority's financial model, and coordinates cross-organizational processes for planning, budgeting, and follow-up. The role of Accounting Economist is part of the accounting group, which is coordinated by the chief accountant. The unit is part of the department for Business and Management Support. The department's other units are HR, Communications, and HUS (Sustainability, Procurement, and Service). The unit manager exercises trust-based and engaged leadership and sees it as important that going to work is both enjoyable and developmental. We work in centrally located offices in Stockholm and there is opportunity for remote work according to the authority's guidelines.
