Accounting Specialist / Controller – Interim Consulting Assignment

Are you an experienced accounting specialist, controller, or auditor with excellent Excel skills? We are now looking for an independent consultant for an interim assignment at approximately 30–40%, where you will take on a broad role focused on accounting, financial statements, reporting, and financial monitoring. This assignment is ideal for you if you enjoy working independently, are detail-oriented, and have a strong understanding of financial processes. The work is particularly intensive during monthly and quarterly financial statement closings, when a significant portion of the tasks need to be handled during the first weeks of the month. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will work with: - Management of fixed asset registers, depreciation, and financial monitoring and reporting to owners - Preparation of inventory reconciliations and inventory analyses to identify potential accounting errors - Reconciliation and transfer of payroll files - Management of VAT, taxes, and periodic compilations, including reporting, payments, and postings - Administration and monitoring of lease contracts in the owners' system, such as additions and sales - Monthly financial analyses and follow-ups - Preparation of monthly and quarterly reports to owners in connection with financial statement closings - Reporting of financial statements in the owners' reporting system together with the CFO - Preparation of reconciliation documentation and participation in internal and management audits You will work closely with the CFO, who is also involved in the above processes. Work will be distributed and built together to ensure that financial statements, reporting, and other deadlines are handled on schedule. We Are Looking for Someone Who - Has at least several years of relevant experience in accounting and controlling - Has a strong understanding of financial statement closing processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting - Has excellent Excel skills and is experienced in handling, processing, and analyzing large datasets - Has experience with IFS or other qualified accounting systems (a plus) - Has experience with audit work and/or preparing documentation for audits - Enjoys analyzing data, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring quality in financial documentation - Is organized, detail-oriented, and independent - Works well collaborating and communicating with various internal and external contacts Excellent Excel skills are a requirement, as the accounting system largely requires data to be extracted, processed, and reconciled in Excel.
