Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes 21 million decisions that impact people's lives and society as a whole. We distribute approximately 260 billion kronor annually. These are taxpayers' funds entrusted to our care. That is a great responsibility. This is why we carefully examine each case, follow laws and regulations, inform and guide, care, and show consideration. This is a job for someone who wants to take responsibility and make a difference. Welcome to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. Are you a lawyer who wants to make a difference? The Legal Department at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency is now seeking qualified lawyers (specializing as legal experts) for several of the department's areas. Tasks and Responsibilities The Legal Department is responsible for legal governance of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's operations. This includes: responsibility for legal governance within the social insurance field, which means developing regulations, general guidelines, and legal positions, responsibility for legal governance within EU coordination of social security, monitoring and analysis of European Court of Justice case law, and coordination of the agency's EU work and international cooperation, responsibility for standardization and coordination of administrative law, and matters concerning digitalization, data protection, and public access and confidentiality, responsibility for the agency's regulatory development needs for amended or new legislation and consultation responses on legal matters, providing legal support to the agency's departments that do not work with social insurance law, including matters related to business law, security and preparedness, public access and confidentiality, and administrative law. This position as a lawyer suits you if you want and can work independently, with significant responsibility and mandate. An interest in various societal issues is also valuable. You may represent the Swedish Social Insurance Agency in external forums, for example in meetings with the Government Offices, other agencies, and civil society organizations, and as part of work against abuse and fraud in the welfare system. Part of your work will involve helping develop operations and working methods. You will work broadly with many colleagues both within the agency and with other actors such as other government agencies. You will join a workplace where curiosity, humility, and consideration for colleagues are fundamental. We offer stimulating and developmental work with good opportunities to balance work and private life. A good work environment is important to us. Employees have the opportunity to work part of their time remotely. Work at the Legal Department involves handling classified information, which requires high standards of proper handling. It is therefore important that you have strong security awareness. Your Background We are looking for someone with a law degree and notarial certification or experience in other qualified legal work that we consider equivalent. You need very strong legal knowledge. Experience from a higher court in the general court system or administrative court (for example as an assessor or justice secretary) is advantageous. Experience in qualified legal work in the Government Offices or another agency is also advantageous. Your Qualities You have very good collaboration skills and enjoy working with others to achieve common goals. At the same time, you can take your own initiative, work independently, and take responsibility for delivering high-quality results. You have a systematic and careful approach to work. You also have good analytical ability and express yourself very well in speech and writing. You can adapt your communication to your audience and situation. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Other Information Multiple positions, permanent, full-time, with start date by agreement. Trial employment may be relevant.
