The Advice and Regulatory Information Unit is responsible for providing advice and support in various ways to companies, authorities, and other operators on current and new regulations within all areas under the Swedish Chemicals Agency's responsibility. We actively collaborate with other parts of the Swedish Chemicals Agency and with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)'s network of national Helpdesks.

The unit currently consists of eleven advisors with deep and broad experience of the Swedish Chemicals Agency's regulations. We are an engaged team with diverse backgrounds and different experiences. With great commitment and in a positive spirit, we work together to ensure that companies are aware of, understand, and comply with regulations within the Swedish Chemicals Agency's area of responsibility. In our role as advisors, we are the face of the Swedish Chemicals Agency toward companies and individuals. With us, you will help companies understand which chemical regulations apply to their products and you will contribute to ensuring that legislation works in practice.

DUTIES
As an advisor, you will work outward-facing with varied tasks. You will provide advice and support in various ways to companies, authorities, and other operators on current and new regulations within the Swedish Chemicals Agency's areas of responsibility. You will do this, for example, by:
• answering questions about legislative requirements through our question service, both by phone and in writing.
• organizing and participating in information meetings and events
• writing information materials and texts for the agency's website
Your work also includes keeping up to date with legislation so you can proactively inform companies about current and new requirements.
The unit also contributes to the Swedish Chemicals Agency's work on regulatory development, as we have experience of how companies work to comply with legislation in practice.
We also participate in the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)'s network of national Helpdesks regarding EU regulations on REACH, CLP, and Biocides. In this way, we contribute to ensuring that regulations are interpreted and applied consistently across the EU member states.
QUALIFICATIONS
The work is varied and requires competence in both natural sciences and regulatory application. We are looking for someone with a university degree that we consider relevant for the position.
You should have experience working with chemical legislation at a company or authority, for example through:
• having worked with supervision at an authority, as a consultant at a company providing advice, developing regulations at an authority, working with chemical legislation at an industry association, or within industry.
You should have experience working with EU chemical legislation, particularly the CLP regulation, for example through work with classification and labeling or review of safety data sheets.
You should have insight and understanding of government work as well as companies' conditions and needs.
The regulations we provide advice on are both comprehensive and detailed, which places great demands on your ability to absorb various guidance documents and to use and interpret different legislation. Additionally, you must be able to express yourself clearly and understandably in both speech and writing in Swedish and English.
Frequent contact with colleagues, company representatives, authorities, and other stakeholder groups place great demands on good judgment and manner, as well as good collaboration and communication skills. You understand the value of good service and good treatment.

At the Swedish Chemicals Agency, we apply remote work agreements that give employees the opportunity to work remotely up to fifty percent of their working time.

Duration: Start Date: Permanent position from November 1, 2026 or by agreement. The Swedish Chemicals Agency applies a 6-month probationary period. Interviews may be conducted on a rolling basis during the application period.
