Description The Rescue Service Dorotea, where Dorotea Municipality is the principal, is responsible for rescue services in Dorotea and Borgafjäll. The Rescue Service's mission is to increase safety and reduce exposure to unwanted events and prevent accidents for those who live, work, or visit the municipality. On-call rescue personnel are an important part of Swedish rescue services and an important resource for preventing accidents, as well as working with fire suppression, rescue operations at traffic accidents, hazardous material cleanup, cardiac arrest calls, and more. You will become part of a profession whose shared mission is to ensure that the consequences of fires and other accidents are kept as limited as possible. Duties We are now seeking someone who wants to become on-call rescue personnel (part-time firefighter) alongside your regular work at the fire station in Dorotea. As on-call rescue personnel, you have a different employer but respond quickly to the fire station upon alarm for fire or other emergencies. You have on-call duty weekly (168 hours) and must be able to respond from the fire station within 6 minutes. You need to live and/or work close enough to meet the response time. Exercises occur in the evenings. We provide driver's license training for Class C license (heavy vehicle). Qualifications You must: be at least 18 years old. have a Class B driver's license (preferably Class C). pass a physical fitness test (treadmill test). be able to reach the fire station where you are stationed and respond within 6 minutes upon alarm. have a certificate from your regular employer stating you are permitted to leave your workplace upon alarm during regular work hours. undergo and pass medical examinations applicable to rescue personnel. as part of the recruitment process, you will take various tests; you will be contacted with dates for these if you are deemed interesting for the Dorotea Rescue Service. As a firefighter in the Dorotea Rescue Service, you are an ambassador for the organization in your interactions with residents. Therefore, it is important that you are communicative and professional in your conduct. As a person, you should also be confident, stable, and responsible.
