About the Role We are seeking an experienced and independent QHSE Manager who takes overall responsibility for quality, food safety, health, safety, work environment, and environment within Aroma Frukt & Grönt and Sjömat Group. The title reflects this comprehensive responsibility. You understand how requirements and regulations translate into functioning practices, and you have previously built and implemented management systems yourself – not just managed an already established system. You will have significant independent responsibility and close collaboration with the CEO, managers, HR, safety representatives, and other key people in the organization. This is a full-time position distributed approximately 40% at Aroma Frukt & Grönt and 60% at Sjömat Group. About the Companies Aroma Frukt & Grönt has worked with fruits and vegetables since 1996 and is today an independent operator with just over 40 employees, delivering to shops and restaurants in Western Sweden. Focus: quality, delivery precision, sustainability, and unbroken cold chain. Sjömat Group works with fresh and processed seafood products, built on deep raw material knowledge and responsible purchasing. During 2024, Sjömat Skandinavien, Fiskgrossisten i Lysekil, and Savolax were consolidated under Sjömat Group Sweden. The companies share fundamental conditions: fresh raw materials, short lead times, cold chain, and high requirements for quality and food safety. Your Responsibilities As QHSE Manager, you have broad responsibilities, but with a clear goal: to create safe, quality, and sustainable practices that work in reality. Quality – Quality and Food Safety You are responsible for developing and driving management systems and self-monitoring based on HACCP, ensuring compliance with food legislation, customer requirements, and certification requirements, planning and conducting internal and external audits, serving as contact person with authorities, inspectors, and certification bodies, driving non-conformance handling, complaints, and root cause analyses as well as following up on corrective actions, ensuring traceability and functioning procedures for recalls and withdrawals, developing work with supplier assessments and risk analyses, and monitoring KPIs and trends and reporting regularly to respective CEOs. Both companies are currently certified according to IP Livsmedel. Extensive and documented experience in building and implementing management systems according to ISO 22000, alternatively FSSC 22000, is a requirement for this position and applies to work within both Aroma Frukt & Grönt and Sjömat Group. Experience with BRCGS Food Safety is also a strong merit, as it may become relevant for one of the companies in the future. Experience with MSC and ASC is also merit-worthy. Health – Health and Work Environment You drive systematic work environment efforts together with managers, HR, and safety representatives by conducting and following up on risk assessments and safety rounds, ensuring that incidents and work injuries are reported, investigated, and followed up, supporting managers and HR on work environment and rehabilitation matters, and monitoring changes in regulations and translating them into practical procedures. Safety – Safety, SAM, and SBA You create structure and drive preventive safety work by developing and following up on SAM and SBA, conducting inspection rounds, risk assessments and action plans, investigating accidents and incidents and ensuring actions are implemented, educating and creating understanding of safety issues in the organization, and ensuring that legal requirements are translated into clear and functioning practices. Environment – Environment and Sustainability You drive the companies' environmental work using ISO 14001 as a framework, including energy, food waste, packaging, waste, and transport – as well as collection, quality assurance, and reporting of sustainability data to Sjöson and other relevant stakeholders. Close to Operations This is not a role conducted from behind a desk – you are present in the operations and ensure that practices are actually being used. At the same time, you don't do everything yourself – line managers are responsible for their areas, while you create structure and follow up. You are alone in the role, but never alone on the issues. We are seeking someone who independently has built, implemented, or further developed structures for quality and QHSE – not just managed an already established system. Experience driving an operation through certification, such as ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000, is strongly merit-worthy. Who Are You? We believe you have several years of experience in QHSE, quality, or food safety within the food industry, documented experience implementing and driving management systems, extensive experience building and implementing management systems according to ISO 22000, alternatively FSSC 22000, very good knowledge of HACCP and food legislation, experience with audits and certification work, practical experience with systematic work environment practices and SBA, good knowledge of work environment and environmental legislation, preferably experience with ISO 14001, post-secondary education in food, quality, environment, or another relevant field (or equivalent experience), good Swedish and English in speech and writing, and a valid driver's license. Experience with IP Livsmedel, BRCGS Food Safety, MSC, or ASC is merit-worthy. As a Person You are independent, organized, and action-oriented, with integrity regarding requirements and regulations but a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach – you understand that QHSE work is built on bringing the organization along, not just creating documents. Organization and Location Initially, you report directly to the CEO in both companies and work closely with the management team, managers, and HR. Aroma Frukt & Grönt is located in Hisings Backa, Göteborg, and Sjömat Group is currently in Kungälv, relocating to Ytterby in approximately one year. The role involves on-site work in both operations.
