About the Role
As Purchasing Manager, you will have primary responsibility for the company's procurement processes. We want you to strengthen the company's strategic purchasing position by developing our existing supplier base and seeking development-focused business relationships with new suppliers. In other words, we want you to take a comprehensive approach to our suppliers, which consist of both our own group companies and specially selected external suppliers. The majority of these are located in Europe, the USA, and Asia.
The role is varied and dynamic with many points of contact. You drive negotiations, perform cost calculations and analyses, and analyze market, trends, and data.
Further, you work in close collaboration with our sales organization where we want you to take an active role in creating profitable business deals and developing attractive customer concepts.
A selection of other tasks in the role:
Procure and contract our product needs to secure supply and pricing.
Ensure that our suppliers have the "right" product quality and certifications (BRC, IFS, etc.).
Contact with suppliers to ensure proper documentation for release and customs clearance upon arrival at Gothenburg port.
Handle complaints and make decisions for corrective actions.
Supplier visits and trade show visits both in Sweden and abroad.
In your daily work, you will be part of a cohesive team of colleagues in sales, orders, administration, and quality. You also have regular contact with purchasing colleagues in the parent company Wernsing Food Family to find synergies. The role includes personnel responsibility for one employee and you report to the CEO of Wernsing Food Solutions. The position is located at our headquarters in Skara.

We would like you to have:
Experience in strategic procurement, preferably in the food industry.
Strong Excel skills.
Fluent English proficiency in speech and writing.
A strong interest in developing new products and business opportunities.
Experience using smart digital tools and AI for analysis and development of procurement processes.
Ability to initiate and realize changes/improvements in the procurement function.
It is a merit if you have raw material knowledge and experience with certifications and sustainability requirements.
