Gothenburg Port is Scandinavia's largest port and a central hub for Sweden's international trade. For over 400 years, we have been a natural gateway to the world for Swedish imports and exports. To the Public Affairs unit, we are now seeking a Public Affairs & Grants Manager who wants to contribute to Gothenburg Port's long-term development through strategic advocacy work, environmental analysis, and external project financing. The Public Affairs unit is responsible for developing and driving the company's official position on policy matters. The department's mission is to represent the company to politicians and decision-makers on matters prioritized by the company at local, regional, national, European, and international levels. The department also oversees Gothenburg Port's Grants Office, focusing on identifying funding opportunities and creating conditions for development and investment projects through external financing. The position belongs to the Public Affairs and Marketing & Communication department and reports to the Head of Public Affairs and Marketing & Communication. About the Role As a Public Affairs & Grants Manager, you will work at the intersection of business, politics, and societal development. The role combines strategic Public Affairs work with responsibility for the company's Grants Office. You will analyze political initiatives, regulatory changes, and external trends affecting the port's operations and future development. You contribute analyses and decision-making materials to management and operations and represent Gothenburg Port in dialogues with authorities, politicians, industry organizations, and other external stakeholders. The work is conducted in close collaboration with other team members in the department and in close cooperation with other departments in the company. Simultaneously, you are responsible for identifying, coordinating, and driving work with external financing. Through close collaboration with operations, you match funding opportunities with strategic projects and manage application processes and monitoring of approved grants. Key Areas of Responsibility The role includes, among other things: Analyzing political initiatives, legislation, and regulatory changes affecting Gothenburg Port Preparing environmental analyses, briefing materials, decision-making documents, talking points, response statements, and messaging Contributing to the development of the company's Public Affairs strategy and prioritized advocacy issues Building and developing relationships with politicians, authorities, industry organizations, and other relevant stakeholders Representing Gothenburg Port AB at seminars, conferences, hearings, and consultations Monitoring national and European funding programs Identifying and matching funding opportunities with the company's projects and development initiatives Coordinating and driving application processes for national and European grants and subsidies Managing monitoring, reporting, and documentation of approved grants Contributing to the development of strategic partnerships with external actors, research institutions, and organizations in the transport, logistics, and infrastructure sectors Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: Relevant academic education in political science, law, economics, social sciences, or equivalent Several years of experience in qualified work in Public Affairs, government, politics, industry organizations, or similar fields Good understanding of Swedish political decision-making processes and regulatory matters Experience writing analyses, decision-making documents, and other materials for management and decision-makers Experience leading or coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders Experience with external project financing and grant applications Excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing It is a merit if you have: Experience with funding programs such as CEF, Klimatklivet, Industriklivet, or similar support schemes Experience from the transport, logistics, or infrastructure sector Who Are You?
