About the Service Neuropsychiatry is one of five adult psychiatric service areas within Sahlgrenska University Hospital. We provide specialized psychiatric care with a focus on neuropsychiatry, memory-related diseases, geriatric psychiatry, psychiatry for deaf and hard of hearing patients, psychiatry for patients with eating disorders, psychiatry for patients with intellectual disability, and patients with Huntington's disease. Within the service, we have an active and successful research unit. The Psychiatric Clinic for Intellectual Disability is a highly specialized service that serves patients aged 18 and over with intellectual disability (ID) in combination with behavioral problems or psychiatric issues at the specialist care level. The service area covers Västra Götaland Region and northern Halland. The clinic is conducting a research study (SweDown - West) aimed at improving dementia investigations for people with Down syndrome. What Do We Offer? Job Duties As a psychologist with us, you will have varied and meaningful assignments where you work with both initial and follow-up visits, as well as assessment, investigation, and treatment of patients. The psychologist's work also includes leading patient and family groups. The clinic also has an educational mission regarding the target group in relation to other stakeholders. This includes both network work around the clinic's patients, as well as pure educational and knowledge-raising efforts toward other care providers. Consultation, supervision, and training of staff, as well as development work, are thus part of the psychologist's responsibilities. The work also includes participating in care plan meetings and other healthcare meetings. We have close collaboration with stakeholders and family members involved in patient care and support. Work at the unit is characterized by teamwork where collaboration centers around the patient and each person contributes their unique professional expertise. The team consists of physicians, nurses, social workers, support educators/specialist nurses, psychologists, and occupational therapists. The work is varied and contact with patients and networks can take place through clinic visits, home visits, and digital visits. About You We are looking for someone who is a licensed psychologist. You are thorough and organized, yet productive. You can work independently while also having good collaboration skills. You have interest and commitment to the patient group, place the patient at the center, and are attentive. We would like to see that you are solution-focused, flexible, and interested in developing and improving care. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
