SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården has just undergone an organizational change, from LVM care to LVU care, and is now in an exciting development phase. Currently, the institution consists of four units, but will expand to five units with a total of 31 beds during the coming year.
Job Description
Are you a licensed psychologist who wants to work with youth in developmentally critical phases of life? Young people who have lost their way and need help finding their path forward. We offer psychological work with highly varied tasks and challenges. You will meet all types of personalities, mental health problems, and neuropsychiatric conditions. You will encounter substance abuse and criminality, but you will also meet the person behind the diagnosis and behavioral problem. This is much of the satisfaction in the work: following a young person's development from hopelessness and acting out in a life-determining process toward a more dignified life with housing, relationships, studies, and work.
We are developing health and care services at Gudhemsgården and are now seeking a licensed psychologist who wants to participate, have influence, and make a difference. As a psychologist at SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården, you will be part of the institution's health and care team, which is part of the Quality Unit. The health and care team currently consists of one psychologist and two nurses. We have a consulting physician who visits one day per week. Psychologists, nurses, and physicians work across all units where work takes place in an interdisciplinary manner within multiprofessional treatment teams. As a psychologist, you contribute actively within your specific role and are also an important and integrated part of the operations. The work therefore places great demands on your ability to collaborate.
Gudhemsgården currently has two treatment units for non-compulsory school-age boys and two assessment units MBB (Reception and Needs Assessment), where the focus is to stabilize the young person's situation and well-being and to stop criminality, substance abuse, or other socially damaging behavior.
SiS has an ongoing collaboration with BUP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services) where we provide integrated care for youth with special psychiatric care needs. As a psychologist, you have an important role in this collaboration. In collaboration with the National Board of Health and Welfare, we also conduct research in the field of youth care. Psychological work at Gudhemsgården includes treatment, assessments, screening and investigation, risk and needs assessment, consultations, and case supervision. You are part of the school's student health team led by the principal. You contribute to the institution's competency development by continuously educating and supervising treatment staff. At Gudhemsgården, our staff are trained in, among other areas, CBT, MI, and TMO; psychologists are responsible for education, supervision, and consultation to all units and to teachers.
In addition to generous wellness allowances, SiS offers excellent opportunities for personal competency development and certifications in various areas such as specialist training. SiS supports further education in psychotherapy, and at the central level, we conduct numerous courses and training programs each year. With us, you have great opportunities to develop in areas that interest you. Within SiS, there are psychologists at many levels and in various roles such as institutional director, methods developer, and research leader.
Qualifications
We seek a licensed psychologist, preferably with experience working with children and youth. Particularly meriting would be experience from psychiatric assessment and treatment services, CBT, and team work. You should have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing. Basic IT experience and a Class B driver's license.
As a person, you are secure and stable with well-founded, clear values that guide your daily work, while also being able to adapt easily to changing circumstances. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive your work forward. You also have good collaboration and relationship-building abilities and communicate clearly. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
At SiS, we care about good workplace relationships. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more at https://www.stat-inst.se/jobba-hos-oss/medarbetarskap-och-ledarskap/.
