Jelgavas valstspilsētas pašvaldības iestāde "Jelgavas valstspilsētas bāriņtiesa" announces a competition for the position of Psychologist at Jelgavas valstspilsētas pašvaldības iestāde "Jelgavas valstspilsētas bāriņtiesa" (permanent position): Job Duties: 1. Provide psychological consultations to guardian court clients or client groups; 2. Within the scope of the position's competencies, represent client interests with municipal, state, and other institutions; 3. Participate in guardian court sessions; 4. Prepare psychological examination or assessment reports; 5. Address clients' psychological problems using various methods, such as psychodiagnostics, individual consultations, and observation; 6. Collaborate with social services, educational institutions, guardian court members, and other institutions. Requirements for Candidates: 1. Higher education diploma in psychology from an accredited bachelor's study program and an accredited master's study program totaling at least 200 credit points, with at least one being a professional study program (Master's degree in psychology with specialization in clinical or educational psychology); 2. Registration in the Psychologists Register and a psychologist certificate in the specified field of activity; 3. At least 2 years of practical experience working with children, families, and crisis situations; 4. An unblemished reputation, with no restrictions as defined in Article 6 of the Psychologists Law applicable to the candidate; 5. State language proficiency at the highest level (at least C1); 6. Experience in guardian court work will be considered an advantage; 7. Necessary knowledge and understanding of legal matters (guardianship, contact, etc.) and ability to prepare psychological reports for litigation or the guardian court; 8. High stress resilience and sense of responsibility; 9. Good communication and interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence; 10. Good computer skills for working with MS Office, Word, Excel, NAMEJS, and other information technology programs. Application Documents: Application letter not exceeding one A4 page; Curriculum vitae describing work and professional experience, including work periods, education level, job duties, language skills, and skills in digital tools and information communication technologies; Copies of education certificates in one copy (candidates who obtained education abroad must include a document on the academic recognition of education in Latvia); Document issued by the Psychologists Certification Board confirming that the psychologist is authorized to independently perform professional psychological activities in the specified field; Certification that the candidate is not subject to the restrictions mentioned in Article 6 of the Psychologists Law (Attachment 1); Approval for the processing of personal data (references) (Attachment 2); Certificate from the Ministry of Interior Information Center Criminal Register regarding the person's criminal convictions and administrative violations; State language proficiency certificate for candidates for whom Latvian is not a native language.
