As a project engineer at Trafikverket, you will be part of facilitating everyday life for residents and businesses throughout Sweden. You will do this by contributing to Sweden's future infrastructure. Work Tasks As a project engineer, you will have a central role in the project with a focus on supporting and assisting the project manager. Your work tasks are broad and varied. You will support the project's financial monitoring, internal administration, meeting coordination, collaboration with various consultants and contractors, and participate in consultations with the public and authorities. You will also come into contact with ERTMS, which is a new digital signal system for railways, as well as monitoring the contractor's contract regarding the management of changes and revisions of construction documents during construction. The role also includes work with facility data, which are documents showing how the project is built and should be maintained. We are planning and building 12 kilometers of railway between Sundsvall and Dingersjö, as well as reconstructing the railway yard at Sundsvall Central Station. It is part of the double track between Gävle and Sundsvall, which will improve capacity and travel time for passenger and freight traffic on the route. The program consists of two different main parts, one of which is in production and the other is entering the construction phase. In the project, you will be part of a team consisting of a main project manager, sub-project managers, and project engineers working together to create the railway of the future. To succeed in the role, you have a sense for structure and planning as well as a holistic approach that enables you to create feasible plans for both short and long term. You are also solution-oriented with good problem-solving skills. Furthermore, you have very good collaboration skills and are accustomed to taking your own initiative, which means you see what needs to be done and initiate activities accordingly.
