Description Do you want to help create better conditions for people to develop their language skills, move closer to the labor market, and become part of society? We are looking for an engaged and well-organized project officer for our integration project Language Development & Employment. This position is a fixed-term employment for the period October 1, 2026 – December 31, 2028. The project belongs to the Business and Development Department at Älvkarleby Municipality. The department currently has nine employees working on matters such as labor market, integration, business, tourism, and digitalization. In the project, you will work closely with a project colleague and report directly to the Business and Development Manager. About the Project Language is an important key to employment, participation, and health. Language Development & Employment is Älvkarleby Municipality's part of the regional project Expanded Early Interventions in Collaboration, which is run by Region Uppsala together with seven municipalities in the region. The project is largely financed by the EU Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). The project targets third-country nationals residing in Älvkarleby Municipality who need to strengthen their Swedish language skills and their position on the labor market. Special focus is on individuals who have struggled to make progress in their SFI studies or who need to strengthen, for example, work experience and digital skills. We work practically and individually with language, health, labor market issues, and civic orientation. Through internships, group activities, individual support, and collaboration with employers and civil society, we create multiple pathways to employment, education, and increased participation. Work Duties As a project officer, you will work closely with participants while also helping to develop the project's working methods. You will, among other things: plan, carry out, and develop initiatives plan and lead group activities that promote language development, health, digital skills, and social participation create opportunities for participants to practice Swedish in practical and everyday situations procure, coordinate, and follow up on internship placements within the municipality and with other employers conduct individual assessments and together with the participant plan the path toward employment, education, or other occupation document, follow up, and evaluate participants' initiatives and development collaborate with, among others, SFI, the Employment Service, other authorities, employers, associations, and civil society contribute to the development of methods and working approaches that can continue after the project period. The work involves both independent work and close collaboration with your project colleague and other activities. Therefore, you need to be comfortable switching between individual conversations, group activities, practical work, and collaboration with external actors. Qualifications have relevant higher education in, for example, social sciences, education, or social work, or alternatively other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent have experience working with integration, labor market issues, language development, or related areas have experience meeting and supporting people far from the labor market have the ability to plan, carry out, document, and follow up on initiatives in a structured manner have a strong ability to build trusting relationships and meet people based on their different circumstances can collaborate with authorities, employers, associations, and other actors are initiative-taking, solution-oriented, and comfortable independently driving your work forward have very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, and good knowledge of English have a B driving license. It is advantageous if you: have experience working with SFI participants or other people with limited educational background have experience procuring and following up on internship placements have experience planning and leading group activities have knowledge of additional languages Valid ID and Right to Work in Sweden To work at Älvkarleby Municipality, you need to be able to present a valid ID document showing your citizenship. In some cases, you also need to show a document proving you have the right to work in Sweden. If you are offered employment, you need to be able to show one of the following: - Passport - Driving license - SIS-marked ID card together with a personal certificate showing citizenship - Other valid ID document where citizenship is clearly stated. If you are a citizen of a country outside Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also show that you have the right to work in Sweden (e.g., a residence or work permit).
