Project Manager for Korsvägen

Do you want to lead one of Sweden's most complex infrastructure projects? As project manager for Korsvägen, you will have a central role in one of Sweden's largest and most technically challenging infrastructure projects. You are responsible for planning, leading, and monitoring the project so that the decided scope is executed within established timeframes and budget, with the right quality, safety, and environmental considerations. This is a role for someone who thrives with complex assignments, significant responsibility, and multiple stakeholder relationships—and who through secure and clear leadership gets people to work toward common goals. Work Tasks Västlänken is a railway for commuter and regional trains under central Gothenburg. The Korsvägen work section comprises just over three kilometers of tunnel from Landala, via Korsvägen and Liseberg, to the connection with the existing railway in Almedal. At Korsvägen, we are building an underground station with three exits. The project is in an intensive execution phase with major construction contracts for Korsvägen Station and Liseberg. Work is being carried out in an urban environment with many dependencies on the railway system, other parts of Västlänken, the City of Gothenburg, public transport, Liseberg, nearby residents, and local businesses. As project manager, you represent Trafikverket as the client and are responsible for: leading and coordinating the project organization's work and establishing clear goals and priorities, managing and monitoring contracts regarding schedule, cost, scope, quality, risk, and contractual matters, ensuring structured management of deviations, changes, and decisions, working actively with forecasts, cost control, and financial monitoring, managing technical, commercial, and organizational interfaces, developing professional and solution-oriented collaboration with contractors and other parties, ensuring a safe work environment and consideration of surroundings, communicating project status, risks, and decisions clearly and in a manner that builds confidence. You work closely with, among others, sub-project management, construction management, design, engineering, procurement, finance, legal, and communications. The role combines overall governance with close engagement in project execution. Together with the project organization and our contractors, you drive production forward, manage risks and deviations, and coordinate the project's various components within Västlänken's overall schedule. You are also part of Västlänken's management group and contribute to the governance and development of the program as a whole. Qualifications You are confident and clear in your leadership and create direction, structure, and engagement. You have the ability to hold together the big picture in a project with many parallel issues and dependencies. You build trusting relationships and seek solutions together with others, while remaining clear in the client role and standing firm on decisions. You have high integrity, good judgment, and work in a structured and business-like manner. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: a university or college degree of at least 180 credits in civil engineering, roads and water, construction, engineering, or another relevant field, or alternatively other education and experience that we consider equivalent, multiple years of experience leading large and complex construction, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects, experience leading teams with several areas of expertise, experience managing and monitoring major contracts regarding schedule, cost, risk, quality, and contractual matters, strong knowledge of relevant industry standards, such as AB 04 and ABK09, experience with projects involving complex technical and organizational interfaces, It is advantageous if you have: experience working in dense urban environments with many external stakeholders, experience with tunnel, station, or railway projects or advanced concrete structures, experience with installation and structural completion, experience from a larger client organization, experience in commercial negotiations and qualified contract management, Additional Information To ensure you don't miss important information about your application, you need to keep yourself updated via My Career Page!
