About the Business The Projects and Technical Department is responsible for planning, leading, and executing Region Västernorrland's construction, installation, and property projects, as well as providing technical expertise to ensure sustainable, functional, and operationally adapted premises within the region's property portfolio. We are now seeking a project manager with experience leading major projects with multiple stakeholders, external consultants, contractors, and clear requirements for governance, budget, and quality. As a project manager, you play a key role in ensuring that major projects are executed according to established objectives for budget, schedule, quality, work environment, and operational benefit. You will lead projects from early stages and feasibility studies through implementation, handover, and follow-up. This position is a permanent full-time employment with start as soon as possible according to agreement. Duties Lead major construction, installation, and property projects through all project phases within the region Manage project governance regarding budget, schedule, quality, risks, and work environment Work systematically with decision support documents, budgets, schedules, risk management, and project documentation to create control and predictability in projects Coordinate operations, internal resources, consultants, contractors, and government contacts Participate in procurement, contracting strategies, and contract follow-up Monitor project progress and report to clients, steering committees, and management Ensure compliance with laws, government requirements, and the region's governing documents Responsible for handover, lessons learned, and follow-up after completed projects Qualifications We are looking for someone who Has relevant post-secondary education in construction, engineering, installation, property, or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent Has at least 3-5 years of experience in project management within construction, installation, or property Has experience independently leading major projects with responsibility for budget, schedule, quality, and coordination of multiple parties Has experience with project governance, contract implementation, and structured follow-up Has experience communicating with clients, operations, consultants, contractors, and steering committees Has experience and familiarity with documenting decisions, orders, coordination, and follow-up Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written Has a B driver's license It is an advantage if you Have technical expertise or experience in plumbing, electrical, or construction Have experience managing projects within public operations Have experience with construction law and standard contracts such as AB 04 and ABT 06 Have experience with healthcare, hospital, or other public facilities Have experience from property management, operations organizations, or public operations Have knowledge of public procurement regulations and framework agreements To succeed in this role, we believe you have these personal qualities Stable Empathetic Structured Holistic perspective About Region Västernorrland With approximately 7,000 employees and over 200 professions, Region Västernorrland is responsible for several of the activities that are most important for residents' ability to participate in society.
