To carry out our mission in art, culture, nature, and cultural heritage, our core operations have two departments: Art and Culture, and Nature and Cultural Heritage, with each department divided into several units. The Nature and Cultural Heritage department operates six museums and visitor destinations. To coordinate cross-cutting issues across the entire administration, we work in a matrix structure, including our work with municipalities, children and youth, collection management, and Agenda 2030.
Description
The Cultural Administration VGR has been granted ESF funding for digital competence development within the museum and library sector in West Sweden. The project runs for two years and consists of five competence development modules totaling 116 hours. The modules are designed to meet employees' individual competence development needs and cover areas including basic digital skills, leadership and change management, digital pedagogy, digital communication, and open and linked data. Approximately 670 people participate in the project. Participants have different professional roles, prior knowledge, and needs, and therefore only participate in relevant modules.
The project starts in fall 2026. Initially, the project, learning modules, and communications will be planned. Subsequently, the competence-building initiatives will begin.
We are now seeking a project manager responsible for planning, leading, and monitoring the project's implementation. This is a central role where you will create structure, drive development, and contribute to competence strengthening within the museum and library sector in West Sweden.
Responsibilities
As project manager, you are responsible for the project's implementation, quality, and progress. You lead the work in close collaboration with educators, an administrative coordinator, and participating organizations.

monitoring results, indicators, and quality in the project's various initiatives
responsible for reporting, monitoring, and providing information for management and decision-making
contributing to development of the project's working methods, collaboration, and learning
ensuring good communication between the project's stakeholders
The workplace is located in Gothenburg. Travel within the region may be included.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in project management, pedagogy, communication, or another relevant field. Other education or experience deemed equivalent may also be relevant.
For this position, you must have:

experience planning, coordinating, and monitoring operations
strong ability to create structure and progress in complex assignments

It is advantageous if you have experience with:

work in public sector organizations or politically governed organizations
leading educational initiatives or competence development projects
monitoring, reporting, and results-based management in larger projects
Personal Competencies
You are a confident and clear leader who creates engagement, direction, and good collaborations. You work systematically and results-oriented, while also having the ability to see the bigger picture, quality, and details. You are responsible, communicative, and solution-oriented and thrive in a role where you drive work forward together with others.
Terms
Project employment, 80%, 2 years.

For this recruitment, we ask that you only submit your CV with your application. Instead of a cover letter, you will answer questions about your experience and competence.
