Project Manager MES Implementation at International Industrial Company in Västerås
We are seeking a senior project manager for a consulting assignment in MES and system implementation at a company in Västerås. The organization is undergoing a major transformation with a new production facility and is simultaneously implementing a modern Manufacturing Execution System designed to connect business systems with production floor operations. As project manager, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the MES implementation is successfully prepared for Go Live, working in complex collaboration with production, logistics, IT, business functions, and external system vendors.
Your Assignment
Lead and coordinate a team of approximately 10 people within MES and related system projects
Plan, coordinate, and monitor deliverables, schedules, risks, and dependencies
Drive development and implementation of the MES solution together with the system vendor
Responsible for integration testing, functional testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Facilitate workshops, decision forums, and cross-functional discussions
Ensure that requirements from production, quality, and logistics are captured and correctly implemented
Coordinate dependencies between MES, ERP/SAP, and production-related systems
Support change management, communication, and user readiness prior to Go Live
Monitor progress across multiple stakeholders and parallel work streams
Must Have
Documented experience leading complex IT or system implementation projects
Experience with MES implementation or similar production-related systems
Solid understanding of how MES, SAP/ERP, and production systems interact
Experience from manufacturing, industrial, or production-related operations
Strong project management skills in planning, risk management, dependency management, and stakeholder management
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external system vendors
Strong communication skills and experience managing diverse stakeholders
Ability to drive progress and decisions in a complex and changing environment
Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Meritorious
Experience from large-scale factory transformations, production digitalization, or major Go Live programs, though not required
📍 Scope: Full-time, 40 hours per week
