The Department for Regional Development is responsible for regional planning, management, governance and monitoring with a focus on socially, environmentally and economically sustainable development. The department is part of the regional government administration and consists of five units. The unit for societal planning is one of them and leads and drives development in areas such as energy transition, rural development, communications, spatial planning and housing supply.
The strategic work on these issues requires flexible working methods as the factors affecting societal planning are numerous and interact with each other in different ways. Moreover, the work also needs to be adapted when circumstances change. Individual strategists in the unit may be given special responsibility to drive development in certain subject areas, but collaboration within the unit and complex connections between different subject areas are the starting point for how we organize the initiatives we are responsible for.
The societal planning unit needs strategic expertise to lead a project within commercial services during the period September 2026 to March 2027. We are therefore seeking a project-employed colleague who can strengthen our unit. We are seeking a project manager at 100% and offer you who get the position stimulating and developmental work with great personal responsibility, and pleasant and committed colleagues.
Your tasks
You will lead the project implementation in accordance with the project application for the project "Implementation of regional service program for commercial services 2023-2030". The project has already been ongoing for a few years, but has been granted an extension to further strengthen the work.
The role includes planning and organizing the implementation of the action plan for commercial services on Gotland, working to ensure that companies seek available support, collaborating in the business promotion system, and actively contributing to processes implementing the Working Model for Rural Development and Regional Strategic Planning.
You are responsible for communication, documentation and dissemination of project results both internally and externally. You are also responsible for project administration, budget monitoring and reporting to the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.
You participate in a national network for commercial services with other Swedish regions coordinated by the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.
Who are you?
You have experience working with strategic development issues within societal planning. You should have relevant education and have good experience in project management. It is advantageous to have worked at strategic and/or management level in a politically governed organization at municipal or regional level. A driver's license is a requirement.
As a person, you need to be analytical, strategic and organized. You have the ability to create and maintain good structure in a changing environment and can work independently. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Relationship building and good collaboration skills are crucial for success in the assignment and we are looking for a person who can communicate safely across broad contact networks and interact with many stakeholders. You need to have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. We would like you to have good local knowledge of Gotland.
