Climate change requires new, smart solutions. Through a unique collaboration between Skaraborgs Kommunalförbund and its 15 member municipalities, we are now launching a three-year project to strengthen the sub-region's climate adaptation. The goal is to reduce vulnerability, share knowledge, and develop a systematic, research-based approach that prepares our municipalities for the future. As a team member in the project, you will be formally employed by Skövde kommun – a large and stable employer that invests in innovation, participation, and engaged leadership. However, your daily work will take place on a regional stage, with Skaraborgs Kommunalförbund as the coordinating force to align, streamline, and drive development forward. The project is divided into four work packages plus project management. Each work package is led by a sub-project manager responsible for activities within their respective package. The project manager also serves as sub-project manager for one of the work packages. Read more about the project under "Other." The position is placed at Skövde kommun and Skaraborgs kommunalförbund and is a project employment extending through the end of 2029. The position may thereafter transition to other employment. This is a form of collaboration regarding expertise used for, among other things, project management between the municipal federation and a member municipality. Your closest colleagues within the municipality work with strategy and planning within the Infrastructure sector. The sector reports to the Municipal Board in Skövde. Your closest colleagues in the project are the three sub-project managers from other municipalities, as well as the municipal federation's staff and other project participants. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES Your duties include: • Lead the project based on established goals and expected results together with colleagues in the municipalities and at the municipal federation. • Be operational in selected aspects of the project regarding documentation and reporting. • Supervise employees who are part of the project group, coordinated with the regular manager in the line organization. • Collaborate with senior officials at the level of administrative director/department/unit manager in dialogue with the political structure of each municipality. • Represent the project to the funder, report progress regularly, and ensure the project complies with financing conditions. • Coordinate the project's external relations, inform and anchor the project with political decision-makers, steering committee, relevant networks, and collaboration partners. • Coordinate the project in relation to Skövde kommun, serve as contact person, and ensure that the municipality's contributions and participants are synchronized with the project plan. • Serve as project manager for the project as a whole and sub-project manager for Skövde. In the role of sub-project manager, the focus is on what is described as work package 2 in the project under "Other." QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who: • Has relevant academic education, for example in environmental science, sustainable urban development, or work experience that the employer deems equivalent • Has experience leading major projects • Has excellent communication skills • Is organized and has proven ability to successfully coordinate work processes • Can manage complex contexts requiring strong analytical and communication skills • Is comfortable moving between strategic and operational roles • Can engage with different contexts and functions and build trusting relationships • Understands work in politically governed operations • Has a B driver's license or other means to flexibly move around all of Skaraborg We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
