About the job
The Project Office currently has 14 employees with specialized expertise in project and management leadership, requirements analysis, test management, software asset management, and environmental initiatives. As a project manager with us, you will be responsible for leading projects and management objects with a holistic perspective and user focus across the university's various operational areas. This can range from developing information systems that support national environmental monitoring and animal husbandry to maintaining and improving integrated student systems to ensure a good digital work environment, or developing reporting services for species observations in nature conservation work. Your main task is to lead the work of improving and developing our IT solutions so that they best meet the needs of the business. Automation and efficiency are central parts of your work to achieve the best possible results.
As a project manager with us, you will:
Be responsible for cost-effective development and management within your projects and objects carried out in collaboration with colleagues and suppliers. You ensure that solutions are accessible, user-friendly, secure, and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Support the business with IT perspectives on various issues and initiatives.
Contribute IT-related requirements in procurement of IT solutions.
Plan, prioritize, and implement activities within the scope of your project or object.
Coordinate goals, assignments, and activities with other projects and objects.
Calculate, follow up, and report costs for your projects and objects to portfolio and object management.
Prepare documentation such as project plans, pre-study reports, management plans, and decision-making materials for changes and initiatives, and present these to clients and steering committees.
Responsible for coordinating and monitoring contracts with external IT suppliers.
We work agile and in a DevOps context. The position is based in Uppsala. Travel is included in the position.
Who are you?
To fit into the role, you need to be a structured leader with the ability to drive through decisions to effectively manage projects and operations. You have a strategic holistic perspective where you combine technical orientation with process and business development. You understand the interplay and flow between employees, IT solutions, and regulations, and how they together create value. You are responsive, creative, and analytical in your problem-solving.
To succeed as a project manager, you need to have:
a higher education/university degree in, for example, systems science, or alternatively another education, background, or competence that the employer deems equivalent
several years of experience in project management, financial follow-up, and automation/digitalization
documented experience with delivery of system support in roles as project manager, product manager, management leader, object manager, system administrator, or equivalent competence.
Since all our documentation is in Swedish, you need to speak and write Swedish fluently.
It is advantageous if you have:
experience working at a university or other government agency
experience with Power BI, ERP/Unit4, Antura
experience working with project and management leadership within data hosting, environmental analysis, and citizen science
experience managing and setting requirements for external/internal IT suppliers
experience with public procurement and purchasing of IT solutions
experience with agile work, such as a SAFe certification
worked with pm3 or similar management model
