About the Job Are you attracted to working with environmental improvement measures in the marine environment and contributing to public benefit? Do you have knowledge of ecosystem-based marine management and experience with action-based work? Are you also skilled at coordinating different parallel working groups and do you enjoy collaborating with many stakeholders in a dynamic environment? Then perhaps you are our temporary project leader for the 8+Fjordar project. The Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management started a project in 2021 with the aim of applying ecosystem-based marine management in practice. The idea is to develop a management model that can be used throughout the country. 8+Fjordar has been selected as one of three pilot areas for the project. The other areas are the Stockholm archipelago and Southern Bothnia. 8+Fjordar started as early as 2008 as a result of declining fish stocks and deteriorating marine environment. Since then, 8+Fjordar in Bohuslän has systematically worked with various measures to restore and improve the water environment in the coastal area from Nordre älv to Uddevalla. The municipalities covered by the project are: Stenungsund, Kungälv, Tjörn, Orust and Uddevalla in Bohuslän. In addition, the County Administrative Board, University of Gothenburg, SMHI and SLU participate in the project. Your main tasks are to: Coordinate and participate in the County Administrative Board's efforts within the 8+Fjordar project's five working groups: o Seals and cormorants o Fishing and fishing supervision o Marine habitats o Breeding of cod for stocking o Recreational boats Organize action forums and other meetings as well as work with communication Report to the steering committee The Fish Function is part of the Natural Environment Unit at the Nature and Water Department. This includes, among other things, distributing financial support to fish management and liming activities, managing fish management areas, conducting fishing supervision, advocating fishing interests in community planning, reviewing applications for permits and exemptions according to fishing legislation, and protecting and preserving threatened aquatic species. In addition, the Fish Function also assists other departments and units within the authority in various projects and in the work of distributing grants and EU support within the water sector and fishing industry. The Function also participates in various projects related to water and fish, including the 8+Fjordar project with a focus on ecosystem-based marine management (EBHF). For this project, we are now recruiting a project leader on a part-time basis until March 2027. You have: A degree from relevant higher education, for example with a focus on marine ecology, fish biology, wildlife management or equivalent that the County Administrative Board deems equivalent. Work experience - At least three years of experience in one or more relevant areas such as marine ecology, fish management, wildlife care work in marine environment, restoration work in aquatic environment, fishing legislation or equivalent. Project management experience. Good experience with digital tools and working methods. Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
