As a project engineer specializing in noise mitigation at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), you will help improve everyday life and contribute to the quality of life in residential environments throughout Sweden. Work Tasks In this role as a project engineer, you will work with noise protection measures in residential properties adjacent to roads and railways, thereby improving quality of life for people throughout Sweden. Currently, we need three project engineers in the Investment operations area, positioned in Gävle and Malmö respectively. As a project engineer, you will be part of the project management team alongside the project manager and serve as the project manager's right hand. You will participate in various ongoing projects (often the project manager and you manage 5-7 parallel projects simultaneously in a defined geographic area in Sweden), be involved in procurement activities, project and construction meetings, and be well versed in contract content for consulting assignments and construction contracts. As a project engineer in national noise abatement measures, you will frequently (approximately 30% of the time) have contact with property owners who have applied for or been granted noise abatement measures, in addition to regular project engineering tasks as the project manager's right hand. As a project engineer, you will also monitor external developments and assess risks and opportunities in projects. You will handle administrative tasks and monitor all aspects of the project, such as timeline, budget, risks, permits, and quality-related matters. You are also an important part of ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations. Depending on your expertise and experience, you will assume varying levels of responsibility in projects. To perform your tasks, you will work daily with tools and digital systems acquired for the projects and operations. The tasks involve considerable administrative work. As a project engineer in our national project unit, you will have approximately 25 colleagues in the roles of project manager and project engineer. Since our assignments are recurring annually, there is a strong focus on working uniformly, sharing experiences, becoming our own experts, continuously developing effective work methods, and contributing to team spirit—something you will be an important part of. Qualifications Who are you? To succeed in this role, you must be organized, thorough, communicative in speaking and writing, team-oriented, and have strong administrative skills. We are looking for you who have a university or college education of at least 180 hp (120p) in construction and infrastructure, urban planning, or project management, or alternatively another education combined with relevant work experience that Trafikverket deems equivalent have at least one year of current and relevant work experience as a project engineer in construction and/or engineering, or alternatively other experience that Trafikverket deems equivalent have good knowledge of Swedish in speaking and writing, as the program annually provides noise abatement measures for thousands of property owners' residences.
