Work Tasks
One of Trafikverket's current development initiatives is the establishment of its own development platforms to create conditions for increased learning and more efficient maintenance. The development platforms have different focus areas, and one platform is dedicated to corrective and preventive maintenance of Mälarbanan (MB). The project engineer assists the production manager in all project management tasks, for example:
minute-taking and documentation
financial administration
forecasting work
monitoring regarding time, cost, quality, safety, working environment, and environment
As a project engineer, you also participate in analyzing and following up on incidents in the facility to gather information for decisions regarding measures and orders.
The production manager, project engineer, maintenance engineers, contracted consultants, and contractors work together to deliver a safe and accessible railway facility that meets society's need for travel and transport on MB.
The position is based in Västerås.
Qualifications
To succeed in the role of project engineer, you have strong problem-solving skills; you solve operational problems without losing sight of long-term strategies and you understand and analyze relationships in the complex information environment surrounding the railway. You are proactive and can independently see what needs to be done and act accordingly.
You have good communication skills, you convey your message clearly, and you are receptive and adapt your communication to the situation. You are secure as a person and have the courage to voice your own opinions. As a project engineer, it is also important to be collaborative and adaptable to achieve common goals, as well as having a humble approach to finding solutions that are beneficial to all parties. To succeed in the role, you also need to be interested in technology and IT systems.
We are looking for you who have
current and relevant experience in railway maintenance and/or railway technology
current and relevant work experience with project administration
university or college education of at least 180 credits in a relevant field or another educational background combined with experience that we consider equivalent
strong written and verbal Swedish
very good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Excel
driver's license for a car
It is meritorious if you have current experience and/or education in building client responsibility and contract law with knowledge of AB04, ABT06
