WHO WE ARE The transition to more renewable energy involves much more than solar panels on a residential roof. Hospitals, industries, and large properties need solutions where solar cells, energy storage, electricity, and other technical systems work together – and where each solution must be tailored to the property's specific conditions. At OTM Energi, we work with exactly these kinds of solutions. Since 2017, we've grown from a solar panel installer to an energy company that helps businesses and public organizations in southern Sweden produce, store, and use energy more intelligently. We've also developed our own product, OTM Ekoparking – a solar carport that turns parking areas into energy producers. Today, we're just over 30 employees in Vetlanda with expertise across the entire chain from sales and engineering to electrical work, installation, and construction. We're still a small, down-to-earth founder-led company where distances are short and we help each other get the job done. Learn more about us at otmenergi.se. THE ASSIGNMENT Our projects have evolved. A few years ago, engineering was primarily about solar installations. Today, we're building significantly more advanced energy systems, working with larger property owners and the public sector, and running projects with higher demands on technology, documentation, and coordination. We're now looking for an engineering manager who can lead the team and continue developing how we work. As our new engineering manager, your assignment is to: Lead and develop the engineering team You'll lead a team of two project managers and an engineer who know their respective areas well and are used to taking significant responsibility independently. Your job is to create clarity around priorities, help the team prioritize when multiple things happen at once, and ensure everyone knows what's expected. Improve how we run our projects We've taken big steps in our methods, but we're not done. Together with the team, you'll continue developing how engineering and project management work. It's not about building more processes for their own sake, but about making what we already have work better and seeing improvements all the way through. Strengthen us in larger projects and procurement More and more of our business comes from larger property owners, regions, and public procurements. You're operationally involved when needed and can drive projects or procurements, while also strengthening our ability to handle the demands that come with larger contracts. This could include matters like agreements, construction law, documentation requirements, and how we work in procurements. Exactly where you contribute most depends on the experience you bring with you. Develop the business together with sales Engineering holds much of the technical expertise that determines which solutions we can offer and which projects we can take on. You'll work closely with our sales manager and contribute the engineering perspective as we develop our offering, strengthen larger customer relationships, and explore new business opportunities. As a member of the management team, you'll also help shape OTM's continued development. You report to OTM's CEO and are based in Vetlanda. WHO YOU ARE You're an experienced leader from a technical environment who thrives at the intersection of technology, projects, and people. To succeed and thrive with us, you are: Experienced in technical projects You've worked with engineering, project management, or construction in a technical environment and are used to holding together projects with multiple parties and clear delivery requirements. Your background might be in electrical work or installation, where you have strong technical understanding, or in construction and contracting, where you've worked more closely with procurement, contracts, and construction law. What matters is that you understand how technology, business, and execution fit together and have sufficient experience to support the team. Confident leading others You create clarity without micromanaging. You listen, set expectations, and follow up on what you've agreed upon. When multiple things happen at once, you can prioritize and help the team stay focused. You're present and available to your employees while giving them space to solve their own tasks. Good at creating structures that work You see when responsibilities are unclear, information goes to the wrong place, or a method doesn't work all the way through. You can make things simpler and clearer and ensure that decided improvements get implemented. At the same time, you know that more structure doesn't automatically mean more meetings, processes, or administrative work. A company builder You're interested in more than just project delivery and want to understand the customer, the business, and where the company is headed. You enjoy discussing new solutions and opportunities and can contribute a technical perspective to commercial and strategic questions as well. Down-to-earth and unpretentious You thrive in a smaller company where decision-making is quick and where people help each other outside their own areas of responsibility when needed. You come with experience and your own perspectives, but you don't need to have all the answers from the start. You listen, ask questions, and get to know both the people and the company before deciding what needs to change. AIM'S REFLECTIONS The engineering team at OTM is a competent and committed group that wants to improve and has already taken several steps toward clearer roles and methods. Now it's about bringing engineering and project management under clear leadership that provides direction, develops the team, and gives employees even better conditions to do their jobs. OTM's business has changed rapidly. Engineering has gone from primarily designing solar installations to working with significantly more advanced energy systems, larger projects, and more procurements. This makes engineering an increasingly important part of both the business and OTM's continued development. For the right person, there's therefore an opportunity to influence much more than just how the department works. For the right person, this is the opportunity to take responsibility for a good team while the playing field itself grows: which projects OTM can take on and how the company as a whole develops. As part of the management team, you'll help shape that journey and drive the business forward even at the strategic level. WHAT HAPPENS NOW Do you think this could be your next role? We'd love to hear from you. We'll review applications continuously until October 8. If you have any questions, you're very welcome to contact Anna Josefsson, 070-2066 286 or [email protected]
