Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. The department's facilities are located primarily in the Arrhenius Laboratories together with the other chemistry departments and other institutions within the Faculty of Science. The technical and administrative staff is divided into three sections: finance, HR, and technical services. In total, the technical and administrative department consists of 17 people including the administrative director.
Duties
You will be part of the finance section, which consists of four economists and two finance administrators. The section is led by a coordinator who also serves as acting administrative director. You will primarily work with accounting and financial monitoring of externally funded research grants, including EU grants as well as appropriated funds for research and education. Your duties include preparing budgets, ongoing monitoring and forecasting, as well as reporting and final accounting of projects. You will also work with reconciliations, preparation of relevant reports, requisitioning of research grants, and other finance-related tasks. The work also involves close collaboration with our researchers, where you will be responsible for several research groups and their projects. We support each other within the finance team and help where needed.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with higher education in accounting/finance and an interest in working with project accounting within the higher education sector. As a person, you are thorough, responsible, driven, and self-directed. As the workload is periodically high and you often work toward deadlines, it is important that you are stress-resistant and can prioritize and structure your work. You will work in a support function, which means you need to be social, service-oriented, and excellent at collaboration.
You should be proficient in the MS Office suite with very good Excel skills and you are an experienced AI user. Experience with the accounting system Raindance or the HR system Primula is advantageous. The role further requires very good command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as a large part of our communication is in English.
Experience with accounting work at a government agency or within the higher education sector is advantageous, but we are also open to a newly graduated economist at the beginning of their career with the right drive and interest in learning project accounting in a complex organization.

About the Employment
The employment is permanent full-time with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
