Job Responsibilities As a project economist with us, you will be responsible for the financial management of research projects and support researchers/project managers throughout the project cycle, from application to completed projects with a focus on financial administrative tasks. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the school's researchers/project managers. The project economist also supports one or more department heads in matters concerning financial management. The work includes tasks such as: Advice and support in budgeting for applications Project budgeting following approved applications Closing of accounts and monitoring of revenues and costs within grant-financed projects Financial reporting to funders Communication with funders and any participating partners to ensure compliance with financial and administrative requirements Work with budget and forecast for one or more departments Other administrative tasks may also occur Qualifications Requirements Bachelor's degree in economics or work experience that the employer deems equivalent Experience working with accounting and monitoring Communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts in an understandable way Strong knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing – both languages are required in daily work as we operate in an international environment Strong knowledge of the Office suite Experience working in financial systems (e.g., Agresso, SAP, or similar) Personal Qualities To succeed in the role of economist, you need to be independent, structured, quality-conscious, and service-oriented. In addition, you need to have pedagogical insight and enjoy working in an environment with many contact points and varying tasks. Desirable Experience independently working with accounting, closing of accounts, and reporting of grant-financed projects. Experience working with budget and forecast and supporting a management function in financial matters.
