As a project manager, you will have a key role in developing LKAB's future mining operations. You will be responsible for coordinating, leading, and creating conditions for two of our most important future initiatives in Kiruna – the pre-study for a future main level and the development of the Per Geijer mineral deposit. Both initiatives are strategically important for LKAB's long-term development and involve investments in the multi-billion category. The role entails overall responsibility for ensuring direction, coordination, and successful deliveries through complex phases where technology, ongoing mining operations, environmental and permitting issues interact. Your role As a project manager, you will have a central role in holding together and driving some of LKAB's most crucial future initiatives in Kiruna. The task is about ensuring direction, progress, and coherence. In the role, you will: Lead and coordinate the work between the pre-study for a future main level in Kiruna and the development of Per Geijer. About Europe's largest deposit of rare earth metals Ensure that project objectives are achieved with respect to safety, quality, time, cost, and operational benefit Take responsibility for coordination between different projects, functions, and external actors Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams with participants from across the organization as well as external partners Be a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including authorities and other strategic partners Contribute to well-founded decisions through clear reporting and communication to steering committees and management You will be part of the department's management group and report to the department head for Projects and the steering committee for the initiatives. The role entails significant responsibility for the implementation of some of Sweden's largest industrial investments. The majority of working time should be in Kiruna; other locations can be discussed. What you bring We are looking for an experienced project manager or project leader with documented ability to lead and coordinate large and complex investment projects through different project phases. You combine strong leadership with a strategic perspective and have the ability to create engagement, direction, and results even in complex environments with many stakeholders. To succeed in the role, we see that you: Have experience leading major investment projects, preferably in the multi-billion category Have the ability to create structure, coordination, and clarity in complex project environments Are accustomed to managing interfaces between different operations, projects, and external actors Build trust and create good collaborations both internally and externally Have a business-oriented approach and can balance strategy, benefit, risk, and feasibility Are confident in dialogue with steering committees, management groups, and other decision-makers Communicate clearly and can translate complex issues into decision-making materials and concrete choices Beyond that, you have: A higher education or university degree, for example, a civil engineer, or equivalent experience that the employer deems equivalent Several years of experience leading projects from early stages through implementation and handover Experience from major investment projects, e.g., from mining, industrial, infrastructure, or construction projects Experience with environmental and permitting processes Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written B-class driver's license We strive for a fair and objective recruitment process.
