Description of the Workplace
The position is placed within the research groups "prostate cancer imaging group" and "MR-physics group" at the Department of Medical Radiation Physics. The research aims to improve MRI-based cancer diagnostics, and the interdisciplinary research group includes members with diverse expertise in physics, biomedicine, and radiation physics. Tasks and Responsibilities
You will work with experimental studies using radioactive substances and measurements with various types of detectors and gamma camera. The objectives are to (1) establish a carrier solution suitable for experimental imaging studies with radioactively labeled peptides in containers of different materials, (2) conduct measurements and uncertainty analysis when measuring with activity meters, (3) investigate experimental factors affecting uncertainty in the calibration factor for quantitative imaging with gamma camera. The tasks include handling and dispensing of radioactive solutions, measurements, analysis of measurement results, and oral and written reporting.
Requirements Profile
Requirements for the position are:
excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
good knowledge of nuclear medicine operations
practical experience working with open radiation sources in solution form, including implementation of relevant radiation protection measures
practical experience measuring with clinical nuclear medicine detectors and camera systems.
Meritorious for the position are:
ability to work independently
good collaboration skills
degree from Hospital Physicist Education or equivalent
knowledge of uncertainty analysis
authorship of thesis work, scientific articles, or scientific reports
experience with programming for data analysis.
Other Information
The position is fixed-term for the period 2026-10-01 – 2027-05-31 and constitutes 100% of full-time employment.
