At DIV, education and research are conducted in design, interior architecture, and visual communication. The school offers education at bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. At the school, artistic practice is combined with critical and society-oriented knowledge development. DIV's research environment is under development, and as a professor, you are expected to actively lead this development for the Interior Architecture department. Within the subject area of Interior Architecture and Furniture Design, a three-year bachelor's program (180 credits) and a two-year master's program in spatial design (120 credits) are offered. Creative and spatial experiments and investigations are combined with furniture design and prototype development. The education is professionally oriented with theoretical and practical studies conducted in drawing studios, ateliers, and workshops. Students' artistic development is interwoven with technical, ecological, ethical, as well as social and market-oriented knowledge. Main Responsibilities Responsibilities include: Overall responsibility for artistic and pedagogical leadership within the department as well as development of the subject area. Actively participating in teaching at bachelor's, advanced, and doctoral levels Conducting research within the subject area Leading, developing, and expanding the research environment Initiating research applications and seeking external funding nationally and internationally Promoting national and international collaboration with academia, profession, and societal actors Participating in Konstfack's collective work and serving on school-wide and department-specific working groups Employment The position comprises 60–100 percent of full-time employment for a maximum of five years with the possibility of renewal for an additional maximum of five years. The qualifications for this position are: Higher education at the advanced level with relevance to the position's content or other professional experience deemed equivalent with reference to the position's content Documented pedagogical competence in higher education or other relevant education Documented practice in interior architecture, spatial design, and/or furniture design Documented experience of collaboration within or outside academia Experience conducting research relevant to the subject area Artistic competence Good English language skills Assessment criteria for this position are: Established professional and/or research practice in interior architecture, spatial design, and/or furniture design Good experience in leading collaborative development work and good communication skills Good ability to initiate, lead, and develop research projects and research environments, as well as attract external funding Special competence in interior architecture, spatial design, and/or furniture design Good pedagogical competence Good ability to integrate critical perspectives, including sustainability and transition perspectives, in research and teaching Good knowledge of current research in interior architecture, spatial design, and/or furniture design Doctoral degree in a relevant subject area Active in national and/or international networks relevant to the subject area Good organizational and administrative competence Good Swedish language skills or another Scandinavian language. Higher Education Pedagogy Training For work as professor, senior lecturer, and lecturer (with employment lasting longer than two years), the employee is required to have completed higher education pedagogy training at Konstfack or another institution, or has otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge. An applicant who is otherwise deemed qualified but lacks higher education pedagogy training should begin the training (equivalent to 7.5 credits) to acquire the missing qualification no later than one year from the start of employment.
