Location: Gothenburg, Lundby Start: Immediately Assignment Length: 6-month fixed-term employment with good opportunities for extension Scope: Full-time, day shift About the Job As a Product Development Mechanic, you'll be an important part of the development chain where you work on building, modifying, verifying, and preparing vehicles and components for testing. The work is carried out in close collaboration with test engineers, designers, build managers, and project managers. The role offers great variety where you combine practical workshop work with technical problem-solving. You'll also participate in testing activities both in Sweden and internationally, giving you the opportunity to work closely with the development of future vehicle technology. Example of Work Tasks: - Rebuilding and modification of trucks, engines, and drivetrains - Preparing and verifying vehicles before testing - Installing new components, features, and systems in prototype vehicles - Working with electrified vehicles and high-voltage systems - Updating software in control units - Performing troubleshooting and verification of mechanical and electrical systems - Handling refrigerant systems in and outside vehicles - Participating in testing expeditions in Sweden and abroad, for example in Kiruna and southern Europe - Actively contributing to improvement efforts within quality, safety, and productivity - When needed, restoring test objects to original condition after completed testing What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is thorough, creative, and takes responsibility. You have the ability to see both the big picture and the details while always keeping safety and quality in focus. The role requires flexibility and a desire to continuously develop, both technically and personally. You appreciate working closely with both vehicles and people and are driven by contributing to the development of future technology together with engaged colleagues. We're looking for someone with: - Vehicle technical education, heavy vehicle mechanic training, or equivalent experience - Several years of experience working as a mechanic, preferably with trucks or advanced vehicle systems - Good technical understanding of vehicles, drivetrains, and mechanical systems - Experience with troubleshooting and practical workshop work - Good ability to read and understand technical drawings - Computer skills and experience with digital tools - Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written - B and C driving licenses Meritorious: - Experience with testing operations and preparation of test vehicles - Experience with handling and installation of sensors and measurement systems - Knowledge of electronics and vehicle software - Knowledge of welding, turning, and milling - Experience with tools such as Impact, Tech Tool, and other vehicle-related systems - Experience with prototype building or product development - CE driving license - Forklift certification - Authorization to work on electric vehicles, for example Roll 4 Background Check Information In accordance with our clients' requirements, this recruitment includes a background check against the criminal and disqualification register as part of the employment process.
