About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now seeking more staff members. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand facilities, and inmate transport. The Stockholm East operational area encompasses two closed prisons: Österåker and Täby. Our staff includes primarily correctional officers, but also care personnel, teachers, administrators, production managers, and other important professional groups. Inmates at the facilities participate in education, treatment programs, workshop activities, and assembly and packaging assignments – all to create structure, meaning, and conditions for a better future. Österåker Prison is in an exciting expansion phase with new prison places and work facilities being put into operation between 2025 and 2027. There are excellent opportunities to grow with the operation – both in the number of staff and in new, exciting roles. The prison is located outside Åkersberga – perfect if you appreciate avoiding rush hour traffic. Car is the most convenient way to get there. Täby Prison is a small facility with a family-like environment and good commuting options. Both facilities offer staff parking. Job Description The Swedish Prison and Probation Service's work operations is one of several initiatives designed to provide inmates with meaningful occupation during their time in prison and promote their adaptation to society after release. At Täby Prison, production and work operations mainly consist of sewing but also packaging work. As a production manager, you have direct contact with our inmates; through daily interaction you contribute to inmate learning while maintaining security and encouraging inmates to reflect. The role requires that you have an interest in sewing and are creative. Together with two other colleagues, you as production manager motivate inmates to participate in work, plan and supervise operations. The work includes inspections, facility maintenance, some ongoing machinery maintenance, warehouse management, administration, and documentation. The production manager's role is connected to responsibility for daily operations and you will yourself participate in production work to ensure that our deliveries are made according to agreed timelines. All activities are conducted without compromising security. Qualifications We are seeking someone who is confident, stable, and self-aware. You get along well with other people and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You are creative and flexible and can easily adapt to new circumstances. You have good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and adapt your way of communicating based on the recipient's needs. You must also have a physical condition that enables you to act physically if the situation requires it. We are seeking someone who has: Complete upper secondary school competency in the form of a final diploma or upper secondary school certificate or other education that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers equivalent Work experience in leading and distributing work Work experience in sewing Good computer skills and administrative ability Category B driving license Ability to express yourself well orally and in writing in Swedish It is also meritorious to have: The Swedish Prison and Probation Service's production manager training Work experience in corrections, security work, educational work, or social care Good knowledge of PErS Knowledge of invoicing Forklift certification Interviews In this recruitment, the selection process begins after the advertising period has ended and interviews will be held on October 20 at Täby Prison.
